Методическое пособие представляет собой сборник текстов для аудирования и направлено на развитие понимания устной английской речи, способностей выделять значимую информацию, благодаря которой учащиеся смогут выполнить составленные упражнения. Сборник содержит ключи для проверки понимания устной речи. Для молодых учителей английского языка и учителей-практиков, для учащихся 5-6 классов общеобразовательных учебных заведений, а также всех желающих усовершенствовать навыки аудирования.





















Предисловие Методическое пособие является сборником текстов для аудирования на английском языке для обучающихся 5-6 классов. При создании сборника были использованы тексты из различных источников согласно тематики к учебникам Ваулина Ю.Е. Английский язык. 5 класс. Учебник для общеобразовательных организаций (Английский в фокусе)/ Ю.Е. Ваулина, Д. Дули, О.Е. Подоляко и др.- М. Просвещение, 2016 и Ваулина Ю.Е., Английский язык. 6класс. Учебник для общеобразовательных организаций (Английский в фокусе)/ Ю.Е. Ваулина, Д. Дули, О.Е. Подоляко и др.- М. Просвещение, 2016 в 5-6 классах общеобразовательных учебных заведений.

Цель пособия – создание умений и навыков восприятия англоязычной речи на слух, с учетом возрастных особенностей учащихся, их понимания общего содержания прослушанного, вычленения главного, основных положений, идей. Учителями составлены упражнения, которые помогают снять различного вида трудности в том числе психологического плана, и которые направлены на развитие навыков и умений ведения диалогов, дискуссий, дебатов и т.д. Содержание тестовых заданий строится на аутентичных образцах устной речи, и соответствует сферам и тематике ситуативного общения, указанных в школьной программе.

Что важнее: слушать или слышать? Важно и то, и другое. Для общения оба компонента нужны. Но что делать, если встречаешь иностранца в своем городе и он интересуется у вас, как добраться, к примеру, в центр. Вы же, то ли с перепугу, то ли от неожиданности, не можете ничего ему ответить, так как ничего не поняли. Как же так! Вы же учите или учили английский в школе! В чем подвох? А проблема проста: у вас не развит навык аудирования. И это понятно: не каждый час нам попадаются англичане на улице. Так что же делать в таких случаях? И почему аудирование так важно? Потому что для успешной коммуникации нужно говорить, слушать и слышать. Если вы все понимаете, но не говорите, вас еще можно воспринять как приятного собеседника. Но если вы только говорите и совсем не понимаете, о чем вам говорят на английском – стоит усовершенствовать навык аудирования. Умение воспринимать англоязычную речь на слух тоже нужно тренировать. Для этого нужны разные тренировочные упражнения. Регулярная тренировка слухового восприятия иностранной речи позволяет организму быстрее освоить лексику, фонетику и грамматику речевых высказываний.

В современном мире в эпоху компьютеризации, заинтересованный в коммуникации с иностранцами человек найдет, без проблем для себя, необходимый ресурс для развития навыков своего с ним общения.

Text 1

Ben

Ben is a schoolboy. Every day he puts on his coat and hat, takes his bag and goes to school.

When Ben comes into the classroom, he sees a large map on the wall. He likes to look at it.

Ben’s teacher is a man, not a woman. His name is Peter Brown.

Ben is a good pupil. He can read and write very well. Ben has many friends at school. One of them is Dan. He has a nice friend at home, too. It is his big black cat Pussy.

Who Is Absent?

At their English lessons the pupils read and write English. They speak English, too.

Every day when the lesson begins the teacher says, “Good morning, children.”

The pupils answer, “Good morning.” Then the teacher says, “Sit down, please.” And the pupils sit down.

At every lesson the teacher says, “Who is on duty today?” The pupil on duty stands up and says, “I am.”

Then the teacher asks, “Who is absent?” And the pupil on duty answers.

But one day the teacher comes into the classroom and asks, “Who is absent today?” The pupil on duty is Vova Novikov. He stands up and says, “I am.” The pupils and the teacher laugh.

Jimmy’s Family

My friend lives in London. His name is Jimmy. He often writes to me and I know very much about his family.

Jimmy has a little sister. Her name is Betty. She is two years younger than Jimmy. Their parents are young. Their father is Mr. Johnson, he is a doctor. Their mother is Mrs. Johnson, she is a doctor, too.

Jimmy's grandfather and grandmother live on a farm near the sea. Jimmy and Betty like to stay at the farm in summer. The children like to help their grandparents to work in the garden. They have a good time at the farm in summer.

Text 4

The Best Time for Apples

It is a lesson at a small school. The lesson is about the seasons of the year.

“There are four seasons in the year,” says the teacher, “they are spring, summer, autumn and winter. In spring it is warm and the trees are green.

In summer it is hot, and there are a lot of flowers in the fields, in the parks and in the gardens.

In autumn there are a lot of apples. They are red and sweet and good to eat.

In winter it is cold and it usually snows…”

Here the teacher stops and looks at one of the pupils. “Stop talking, Johny.” He says. “Now answer my question. Can you tell us when is the best time for apples?”

“Yes, I can” answers Johny, “it is when the farmer is not at home and there is no dog in the garden.”

The Days of the Week

One day Peter asked his friend Victor, “How many days are there in a week?”

“Why, seven, of course,” answered Victor, “Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.”

“Well, Victor, can you name five days of the week and not say Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday?”

“No, I can’t. Can you?” asked Victor.

“Yes, of course, I can. They are: today, tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, yesterday, the day before yesterday,” said Peter.



Task 1. Answer the questions:

  2. What does Peter ask his friend?

  3. Name five days of the week and not say their names.





Text 6

No Time to See the Town

One day a farmer came to a large town for the first time. He wanted to see nice modern buildings, museums, theatres and cinemas. He stopped at a good hotel.

“Your room is 406,” said the clerk.

“And what time is breakfast, dinner and supper?” asked the farmer.

“Breakfast is from seven to twelve o’clock,” said the clerk, “lunch is from twelve to three o’clock; dinner is from three to seven and supper is from seven to nine.”

“Oh,” said the farmer, “I don’t like your hotel. You eat here all day. I want to see the town. Please, show me the way to another hotel.”

Autumn

Autumn is a beautiful season because nature is wonderful. The weather is rather warm and people like to watch the beautiful leaves fall down from the trees.

Autumn is a “tasty” season because there are much fruit and vegetables. People prepare jam and tinned tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, carrots, pepper and so on.

On the first of September children go to school.



Task 1. Answer the question: Why is autumn a “tasty” season?

Task 2. Draw/name fruit and vegetables mentioned in the text.

Who Lives in the House?

There is a small house in the forest. There are two rooms in the house: a kitchen and a bedroom. There is a table in the kitchen. There are three chairs at the table. There are two big chairs and one little chair. There are three cups on the table. There are two big cups and one little blue cup. There are three beds in the room: two big beds and one small bed. A little girl is sleeping in the small bed. Her name is Masha.



Task 1. Choose the correct variant:

They are on Duty

It is Tuesday today. Vera and her classmate are on duty. Their lessons are over and now they are cleaning the classroom. Vera has a duster in her hand. She is dusting the window-sills, a TV-set, desks and chairs. Victor is in the middle of the room. He is sweeping the floor. Victor likes to help Vera because he is kind and careful.

English Weather

When two Englishmen meet they often talk about the weather. In Britain the weather changes more often than in other countries. Every day British newspapers write about the weather forecast. Radio and TV say about the weather several times a day. Sometimes London has bad fogs in November. When thick fog covers London, cars, buses and lorries put on their lights and move slowly along the wet, slippery roads.

The Fox

The fox is not a big animal. It is very nice, clever and shrewd. Its coat is red and warm. It has a very beautiful bushy tail. When it is cold in winter, the fox sleeps in the snow. It lives in the forest, in the field, in the meadow. Foxes like to sleep by day and walk at night. They run very quickly. They live about 10 or 12 years. Foxes are very good parents to their children. Their homes are very clean, warm and dry. Some people don’t know that foxes like to eat berries and fruit. Foxes catch hares and like to eat chicks very much.

New Year in England

The English people usually decorate New Year tree too, just as we do. English people like to stay at home on New Year Day. They have a Father Frost too. They call him Santa Claus. He brings presents to all children.

But they have another winter holiday. It is Christmas. They celebrate it on the twenty-fifth of December. On this day the schoolchildren’s Christmas holidays begin. That’s why children like Christmas very much. Usually people send postcards to their relatives and friends to wish them a Happy New Year.

Winter

Winter is a nice season. Some people like summer or autumn, but others like winter. December, January and February are winter months. The nights in winter are very long, and it is dark when we get up in the morning. The days are short.

The ground, the fields and the trees are white with snow. Sometimes it is very cold, and people put on their warm clothes when they go out.

Boys and girls like to skate and ski. You can see a lot of children running and jumping in the snow or playing snowballs. Little children like to make snowmen.

Traffic in London

Vasily Petrov went to London for the first time. When he was in the street he thought something was wrong. He looked at the cars and buses. They went on the left side of the road.

Yes, in England the cars go on the left, and not on the right side of the road. When people want to cross the street, they must look first to the right and then to the left.

All London buses have a conductor and have two storeys.

I and My House Chores

I often help my parents because they are very busy at work. My mother is a doctor and she spends a lot of time in the hospital. My father is a driver. He often goes to other towns on business. So I have to do a lot of house chores. I go shopping and do the washing up. But I am not good at it. And most of all I don’t like cleaning my room. When my room is tidy I can’t find anything there. What I really like is growing flowers. At home I have a lot of flowers. In spring and summer I grow flowers in the garden. All my friends like them very much and I’m glad to see their happy faces when I give them flowers.

Tom: No, no, he is not a teacher. His little boys and girls are not his pupils. They are ill.

Ben: Oh, I see. Your father is ….

“Look, Alec!” says the boy’s father.” Do you see that nice dog?” Alec sees the dog. The dog is little and white. He likes dog. The dog crosses the street. Alec wants to cross the street too. But his father stops him.

“You must not cross the street when the light is red”, he says. ”We must cross the street when the light is green.”

“Then why does the dog cross the street when the light is red?” asks Alec. “The dog does not know the street lights”, says Alec’s father.

Every day he goes up and down in his cage and looks at the children. Jackie is glad to see children. He is happy when they give him a lot of sweets. He likes sweets.

Today Jackie does not go up and down in his cage. He is ill. He has a bad toothache. The doctor comes to see the little monkey. He helps Jackie.

Then the doctor says to Jackie’s mother and father, “He must not eat any sweets. They are bad for his teeth.” And the doctor puts a sign with the words “Don’t give Jackie any sweets!” on the cage. Now Jackie goes up and down in the cage again.
