Television is one of the greatest inventions of the 20-th century.

Especially children's TV is considered to help people to bring up, to educate and to entertain children. .

Children's TV is consists of films, serials, programs which are created with participating of children.

So the contents of children's TV include:

1. Feature films, for example, “Sinderella”.

2. Feature-length animated films ( “ Ratatuy”, “Shreck”, “ Ice – Period”, “ Three Bogatyrs”and so on).

3. Animated serials (“Smeshariki”, “Pheneas and Ferb”, “Masha and The Bear”).

4. Cartoons (“Vovka v tridevjatom tsarstve”, “Teremok”).

5. Children serials (“Striped Happiness”).

6. TV programs for children (“Life of Wonderful Animals”, “Good Night, Kids!”, “Star Team”).

History of children’s TV

• In Russia the first program for children was shown in Leningrad in 1939. It was "Happy New Year".
• In 1955 the main editorial board of children's programs was founded.
• So In Russia Children's TV

was born in Saint – Petersburg.

Children's programs can be shown

on different channels of TV (TV-3, “ 5 ” , STS).

In Russia there are two leaders among them.

They are “Karusel” and “Disney".

Foreign channels for kids:

Children's TV channels appeared abroad earlier than in Russia.

For example, the first American children's channel Nickelodeon was founded in 1979, in France Canal J appeared in 1988.
