Brass


1. This metal is header and cheaper than copper.

3. It resists corrosion.

It is widely used for zippers, plumbing, valves, electrical plugs and sockets, musical instruments, fashion jewelry and other artificial jewelry.

Tin


1. It is not attacked by weak acids.
2. It’s not corroded by air and has hot a silvery colour.

This metal is widely used for making tin plate which is suitable for cans.

Aluminum


1. It is a silvery metal, which does not rust in the air.
2. It is the oldest and best known light metal.
3. It is also soft and used when alloyed with other metals.
4. It is one of the commonest metals in industry.

This metal is suitable for making cooking utensils, ladders, refrigerators, wrapping material, bodies of vehicles.

Bronze



1.This metal consists of 20% tin + 80 % copper.
2. It’s very tough, wears well, and withstands shock.

It’s used for making propellers, parts of machinery subject to hard wear and for doors and windows.

Lead


1.This is a gray, soft, malleable metal.
2. Nowadays it is very expensive.

This metal is used for roofing and for making waste pipes, sink traps, storage battery plates, storage tanks, lead shot, and screens.

Copper


1.This metal is the best conductor of electricity.
2. It can be found in nature in the form of ores or in pure state.
3. In pure state it’s of reddish color, and it has corrosion resistant qualities.

It is used for electrical wiring and cables.
