Цель: урока носит комплексный характер:
- формирование коммуникативных компетенций учащихся в устной и письменной речи;
- интегрирование знаний по регионоведению в обучение английскому языку.
Задачи:
Образовательные:
закрепить ранее изученную лексику на английском языке по теме «Жизнь в городе» и тематическую лексику регионального компонента;
тренироваться в использовании речевых образцов для составления описания своего города (Рязани);
Развивающие:
развивать умение анализировать, отбирать нужную информацию;
развивать логическое мышление, память, фонематический слух, внимание, воображение;
развивать умение использовать материал, изученный на уроках истории, географии, рязаневедения, природоведения, литературы и т.д. на уроках английского языка.
способствовать развитию интеллектуальной, эмоциональной, мотивационной сферы личности и расширению кругозора учащихся.
Воспитательные:
воспитывать чувство любви к родному краю и чувство уважения к его прошлому и настоящему;

Приветствие, ознакомление учащихся с темой урока, целями и задачами. Создание положительного эмоционального настроя.
Teacher: -Good morning, children. How are you? Are you ready to work?
Teacher: -Look outside. The weather is_____________. It is autumn. It is______. And (but) our city is nice in any season and in any weather.
Do you like your city?

Teacher: You are right. We live in one of the most beautiful places and in one of the oldest cities of Russia. Do you agree? Ryazan is our native place, our Motherland. And today we are going to speak about Ryazan.

(Слайд 4 – Ryazan Parks).
На экране появляются изображения парков Рязани и их названия.
Teacher: There are many parks in Ryazan, you know. I want you to say what they are and where they are located. Look at your tasks.
Учащимся предлагается выполнить задание на рабочих листах: соединить название парка с местом его расположения и составить предложение, используя структуру «is situated / is located».

Учащимся предлагается выполнить задание на рабочих листах: прочитать информацию и угадать о какой площади идёт речь. Пояснить свой ответ. Подчеркнуть в текстах выражения или слова, которые можно использовать для описания любой площади. Для Соборной площади составить устно своё коллективное описание.

По мере угадывания названий площадей на экране появляются их изображения.
2. Read the information and guess the name of the square. Prove your choice.
1) The first name of this square was Yamskaya. It is a favorite place for skateboarders in summer. You can see a fountain in front of the theatre. You can go to “Cruise” or “Globus” from this square.
2) The square is situated not far from Teatralnaya square and the shopping centre «Bars». The square is named after the men who invented radio.
3) There is a monument to the Second World War in the centre of the square. You can do the shopping at «Zodiac» store. Many pupils from school number 7 live there. There is Forest Park (Lesopark) not far from the square.
4) There is a monument to the Great Patriotic War and the eternal fire in this square. Many veterans visit it on holidays. You can do the shopping at Victoria Plaza shopping centre. There is Railway Men Park near the square.
5) Sobornaya Square – describe it yourself.

Text 1. (Kolovrat)
He was born in Shilovo district in the 13-th century. He became a military governor (voivode) and was a rich boyar in Ryazan. In December 1237 khan Batu burned Old Ryazan. Our hero with his soldiers followed the Tatar army and fought against it. He was a real patriot, very brave and clever. People think that he was the first partisan of the Russian land. His monument is not far from school 7 in front of the Central Post office.
Text 2. (Esenin)
He was born in Rybnoe district in Konstantinovo village, on the high bank of the river Oka. He loved nature and at the age of 9 began to write poems. He is a world-known Russian poet. The monument was established on the 2-d of October, 1975 opposite the Ryazan Kremlin. It is situated on the bank of the river Trubezsh.
Text 3. (Prince Oleg)
He was the Prince of the Ryazan land. He was a clever, brave and talented leader. He founded the monastery in Solotcha. The author of the monument is Zurab Tseriteli. The monument is situated in Sobornaya square.
Text 4. (Poletaev)
He was born in Ryazan region. During World War II he fought against fascist Germany not only in Russia but also was a partisan in Italy. He is a hero of the Soviet Union and the national hero of Italy. The monument of this hero is located in Gagarin Street.
Text 5. (Pavlov)
He was born in Ryazan in 1849. He was a Great Russian physiologist and later became the first Russian Nobel laureate. There is a House Museum of this famous Ryazan man. You can see his monument in front of the Concert Hall. It was established in 1949.
