Цель: расширить кругозор учащихся, изучающих английский язык в области страноведения

Задачи: - научить применять полученные знания на практике;

- развивать лексические и грамматические навыки;

- воспитывать толерантное отношение к культуре и традициям

народов, населяющих Великобританию.

Формы организации работы: работа в группах

Оборудование: - компьютер;

- карточки – задания;

- видеопроектор;

- экран;

- презентация в Microsoft Power Point, с заданиями.

Структура проведения мероприятия:

Ход мероприятия.

1. Приветствие:

- Good afternoon children and our guests! I’m glad to see you. Today we have interesting lesson-game: we travel to one of beautiful country. But what is this country? You must guess after watching the film. Ok? (просмотр фильма)

You should answer my questions:

1. What is the full name of this country

2. Where is situated the UK?

3. How many countries does the UK consist of?

2. Мотивация. Постановка цели:

As you guess we’ll travel to the UK. And the theme of our lesson is “Do you know Great Britain?”

We have two teams, the team of 5 A class and the team of 5 B class We have two ships- red and white.

The team of 5A class will travel on the red ship; the team of 5B class will travel on the white ship. Today, your task is to show your knowledge in field of regional geography performing the above-mentioned tasks and for each correctly executed task the ship will move across the countries of Great Britain. Are you ready to begin our competition? Ok.

The UK

The UK (is, are) situated on the British Isles. It (has, have) 4 parts: England, Scotland, Wales and the Northern Ireland.

England, Scotland, Wales (is, are) called Great Britain and (is, are) situated on the island called Great Britain, too.

The climate of Great Britain (is, are) mild. England and Ireland consist mainly of plains. Scotland and Wales (has, have) mountains.

There (is, are) many rivers in Great Britain. The main river (is, are) the Thames. The longest river (is, are) the Severn.

The capital of the UK (is, are) London but there (is, are) many beautiful towns and villages.
