Open lesson on the topic "Animals" in the 6th grade.

Theme of the lesson: Animals

Lesson objectives:

1) Educational : to activate the previously studied vocabulary on the topic "Animals" in oral and written speech; improve the skills of speech activity of students; practicing pronunciation skills

2) Developmental : work on phonetic skills, development of creative and intellectual abilities of students; development of reading skills with the search for the requested information.

3) Bringing-up : educating the outlook of students, fostering a sense of love for animals; education of responsibility for animals

SWBAT develop the skills of monologue speech on the topic "Animals"; improve vocabulary skills and expand their vocabulary .

Methods of teaching: Communicative, interactive

Procedure of the lesson:

I. Org.moment

Teacher: Good morning dear boys and girls!

Pupils: (все вместе) Good morning, Good morning, Good morning to you!

Good morning, dear teacher. We are glad to see you!

Teacher: I am glad to see you, too! Sit down, please. How are you, boys and girls?

Pupils: We are fine, thank you. And you?

Teacher: I’m fine, thanks. Who is on duty today? Who is absent today? What date is

it today? What day of the week is it today? What season is it now?

Pupil: It is the biggest animal in the world. It lives in the ocean but it is not a fish.

Pupil: it is the second biggest animal in the world. It can eat 300 kilos of food and

drink 200 liters of water. It lives in Africa and India. It is kind, clever and very

intelligent. What is it? (an elephant )

Pupil: This animal is very unusual. It can` t walk, it can` t run, it can`t fly, it can only

jump. It has a front pocket and in the pocket it carries a baby. It lives in

Australia. What is it? (a kangaroo)

Teacher: Match the animals with the pictures. Which four animals aren’t in the pictures. Turtle, eagle, gorilla, whale, rhino, wolf, polar bear, tiger, frog, owl, panda, orangutan, rattlesnake, elephant, snow leopard, shark.

Working with text «London wild park»

Teacher: Animals live all around us but if you want to see exotic animals you should

go to the zoo. There are many zoos in the world but we`ll speak about

London Zoo today. (с опорой на слайд)

London Zoo

Welcome to London Zoo. You will see a lot of exotic animals here: giraffes and elephants, lions and polar bears, zebras and crocodiles. Also you will meet many baby animals: see the young birds stretch their wings. And watch out when "Junior Jumbo" walks. This little elephant likes to walk. And those funny little monkeys are always full of fun: swinging, jumping, chasing and chattering. We have over 5,000 insects, big and small, walking, jumping, sleeping.

Your visit will be safe, because all animals live in big comfortable cages. Zoo keepers feed animals twice a day. And when it is feeding time at the zoo, look at those sharks diving for their daily catch. They say feeding time is the most interesting in the zoo.

Many scientists work at our zoo. They learn how to treat and breed animals. Trip to our zoo will be greatly interesting for you. But don't bring your pet with you because wild animals can attack it and don't feed animals, because they eat only special food.
