Islands of the South Pacific

There are many tropical islands with warm weather all year round.

There are many coconut palms on the islands.

The islanders use the trunks of the trees for building, the leaves for making roofs for their houses.

The coconuts give food and the islanders can dry the nuts and sell them to make oil.

There are lots of fish and the islanders like to wrap it in strips of leaves and bake them.

Taro roots are also baked. This is very good food it has lots of vitamins.

There is no cold weather so their houses are open on all sides. They have stone floors and roofs made of palm leaves.
