• 1. Learn about interesting places in Russia

• Russia is a huge uncharted country. Sometimes the sights of exotic resorts or the famous monuments of European architecture are known to us much better. But our country is rich in no less impressive species.

Lena Pillars, Yakutia

• Lena Pillars are rocks located on the right bank of the Lena River, two hundred kilometers from Yakutsk. Each pillar is a sculptural structure resembling medieval columns. The age of these rocks is 500,000 years.

Elton Lake, Volgograd Region

• Elton Lake is the largest salt lake in Russia. Mineralization of water in summer can reach 400 g / l, which is 1.5 times higher than in the Dead Sea. Only bacteria and unicellular algae live in such a solution.

Pillars of weathering, Komi Republic

• The weathering pillars, which are located on the Man-Pupu-Ner plateau, can be safely called the calling card of the Urals. Only the most desperate come here - the distance to crowded places is 400 kilometers.

Pole of cold, Yakutia

• Oymyakon - the famous pole of the cold. It is considered the coldest point in the Northern Hemisphere and the coldest settlement on Earth.

Mamaev Kurgan, Volgograd

• Fierce battles took place on this hill on the right bank of the Volga in 1942–1943. In memory of the Battle of Stalingrad, Mamaev Kurgan was turned into a memorial complex, the heart of which is the sculpture "Mother Mother Calls!" Its total height is 85 meters, and it is the tallest non-religious statue in the world. Mamaev Kurgan is saturated with historical pain: over 35,000 defenders of Stalingrad are buried there. The best place to tell children about the war, and to show how wonderful the world is without it.

Lake Baikal, Eastern Siberia

• The deepest lake of the planet, the largest natural reservoir of fresh water. Its width ranges from 25 to 80 kilometers, and the surface area is equal to the area of ​​territories of countries such as Belgium, the Netherlands or Denmark.
