There is hardly a man, who has not heard about the Olympic Games. Olympic Games are always an embodiment of force, courage, skill and beauty of the person, of his body and spirit. A sound mind is a sound body.

I think it is the best that human sense has created. The Olympic movement spread around the world. The participating in the Games is important and prestigious not only for sportsmen but for countries as well. Nowadays the Olympic Games are one of the most important sports events in the world while the Olympic movement has become an enormous and expensive organization.

I am looking forward to the opening of the 22nd Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. It is a great event for our country that will be the host of the Olympic Games for the second time. For the first time the Olympic Games were held in Moscow in 1980. My parents were children at that time but they often tell me about great sportsmen, beautiful ceremonies, gold medals received by Soviet athletes, about tears of happiness in the eyes of the people. I am very proud of my country. The 22nd Winter Olympics will be celebrated from 7 to 23 February 2014, in Sochi. Sochi was selected as the host city on 4 July 2007. The Olympic Games in Sochi - 2014 open new possibilities not only for Krasnodar region but also for Russia.

Sochi is not only the resort city; it is a city with a subtropical climate, rich nature, beautiful sights. Every time, when I visit Sochi in summer, I enjoy everything: seaside, nice weather, holidays. I think Sochi has been changing very rapidly. A lot of sports complexes are being built there. I have read in the newspaper «Komsomolskaya Pravda» about some of them: Bolshoy Ice Dome, Shayba Arena, Ice Cube Curling Center, Rosa Khutor . The construction of sports complexes in Russia will give a powerful incentive for further sports development. It is generally known that nation, which invests in sport increases levels of health, thus saving money on future treatment. The motto of the Sochi Games is «Gates way to the Future».

The Olympics have always been the symbol of peace and unity. And the Winter Olympic Games - 2014 as any international event are an opportunity to show political position and power. Russia is a peaceful and powerful country.

I hope that 2014 Olympics will conquer the hearts of people just like Olympics - 1980. And every participant and guest of the Olympics will get a warm welcome. In conclusion, I would like to say that I wish I would be in Sochi next winter! The Olympic Games are one of the greatest and most spectacular international events.
