Сценарий мероприятия внеурочной деятельности "My profession is my choice"

Тема урока: Моя профессия – мой выбор (My profession is my choice).

Цель: научить учащихся рассказывать о своей будущей профессии и аргументировать свой выбор.

Задачи:

- активизировать языковой материал в устной речи;

- создать условия для активного речевого взаимодействия;

- способствовать развитию умений использовать в устной речи информацию, полученную при чтении и в ходе восприятия иноязычной речи на слух;

- совершенствовать коммуникативные навыки учащихся по данной теме;

- учиться применять полученные знания на практике;

- ознакомить учащихся с английскими идиомами, связанными с профессиями.

Оборудование урока: компьютер, мультимедийный проектор, раздаточный материал, интерактивная доска.

Ход урока

Ведущий:

Good afternoon, dear students! I am very glad to see you. How are you today? Do you agree that our future depends only on us? Yes, to have happy future means not only having a family but also having a good job. I am sure each of you dreams from time to time about working as a director or a boss in a comfortable equipped office and getting a decent salary. But you have to take into consideration a lot of facts, and make up your mind. So we’ll discuss it today and try to judge if your choice is right. And we will do it in small groups taking part in different competitions and getting points for them. Let’s have 4 groups (4 students in each group).

At first let’s warm up a bit. Each team gets two tongue twisters and your task is to read it quickly, correctly and altogether (each team does it separately for the other team, in turns). The team which is the best gets 5 points for it. I give you 3 minutes to prepare. Start!

1. If one doctor doctors another doctor, does the doctor who doctors the doctor doctor the doctor the way the doctor he is doctoring doctors? Or does he doctor the doctor the way the doctor who doctors doctors?

2. Pick a partner and practice passing, for if you pass proficiently, perhaps you'll play professionally.

Great job! So now we are going to have the other task. Each team gets a text about stars and professions. You have to read this information, then find students who are of the same sign as you, cooperate in groups and after that each group of similar signs should present us information about suitable professions for your signs. Remember, I evaluate each of you and then add these points to your team. Be ready in 5 minutes, please.

So let’s watch a video about work in Britain now. Your task is to watch it and make notes. After that I am going to ask you different questions concerning this video. And please, the person who knows the answer raises hand and only after that answers. You will get one point for each correct answer.

Good students! So let’s continue our competitions. Now each team is given papers with the names of different professions and adjectives. Your task is to choose any 5 professions which you will describe without saying the name of them. Try to describe in details what this person does, where one works, what qualities should possess for this profession. And the opposite group is going to guess the names of them. Each correct answer brings one point to your team. You will have 10 minutes to prepare for it.

5. Идиомы

Great job! You know for sure how to describe each profession in the right way. But let’s move further. Now each team takes a sheet of paper where you see an idiom (with translation) connected with profession or work in general. Your task is to make a sentence using this idiom correctly. Each correct sentence brings your team 1 point. You will do it in turns and each team has only 1 minute for making 1 sentence. Start!

Alright, I see that you are a bit tired and you are going to have the last and the easiest task now. It is a simple test. Each team gets a test and the one which does it quickly and correctly gets 5 points. You will have not more than 5 minutes for it.

They prefer work, connected with trade and advertising, such as sales representative, shop-assistant.
