This country is called the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The UK. The UK lies on the British Isles.

The British Isles are a group of islands to the north-west coast of Europe. The British Isles consists of 2 large islands: Great Britain and Ireland. Great Britain includes England, Wales and Scotland. Scotland is in the northern part of Great Britain. England is in the southern and central part of Great Britain and Wales is in the west. Ireland consists of Irish Republic and Northern Ireland which is situated in the north-eastern part of Ireland.

Great Britain is washed by the North Sea, the Irish Sea is, the English Channel, the Atlantic Ocean.

There are no high mountains on these islands. Ben Nevis is the highest mountain, it is situated in Scotland, The highest peak in Wales is Snowdon. The Northern part of Scotland is called the Highlands, the southern part is called the Lowlands. There are green hills and low mountains in Ireland. There are a lot of rivers in Great Britain, but they are nor very long: the Thames, the Avon. The longest river is the Severn . Loch Ness is the most famous lake, famous for its lock Ness monster.

London is the capital of England, as well as the capital of the UK. It is over 2,000 years old. The capital of Wales is Cardiff. The capital of Scotland is Edinburgh. Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland. Manchester and Liverpool are industrial cities.

Writing The Moscow Kremlin was built in 1482-1495. It is situated on the high left bank of the Moskva River. the Moscow Kremlin was built from red-brick stone. It was used as a fortress.
