(Слайд1-2)The soldier of the Great Patriotic War
(Слайд3-4) Alexander Kirillovich Krivoguzov (06.06.1918-1982). Russian.
He was born in a small village in Rostov region in a small village Sheptuhovka in a poor farmer’s family. At the age of 23 he was taken as a solder to struggle against the Hitler’s army. To my mind, my grandfather’s achievements are (Слайд5)great: he took part in the Stalingrad battle and in the Kursk Arc battle and finally, reached Hungary.
(Слайд6)During the war he was a driver of the car that was transporting Russian weapon to the front. My grandfather had to bring the guns to the necessary place not far from the forest where the Russian tanks were hiding . One day the German planes started to bomb the Russian troops. All the infantrymen began to run to shelters. So did the drivers of the cars.
My grandfather realized that without this weapon his army would lose an opportunity to destroy a big number of German tanks. The Russian tanks needed this weapon. So he wanted to hide his car in the forest on the other side of the river. He started to cross the bridge . Accidentally, one wheel was stuck between the wooden stairs and my grandfather couldn't drive it out. He tried but couldn’t . He loved his car as if it was his child. By the way, the car had just been repaired. He couldn’t leave it. So my grandfather ran to the forest and asked the tank drivers for help. It was dangerous business because those tank drivers had the order not to leave their places: the German tanks could notice them. They didn’t agree at first, but my grandfather insisted and one tank driver finally agreed to help. The Russian tank pushed the weapon car out of the hole and my grandfather successfully drove it into the wood. He was the only one who saved the weapon and for this patriotic deed he was awarded. He got the Order of the Red Star . By the way, at the end 0f 1944 he was chosen to be the personal driver of the Russian general Eliseev. In 1945 he was one of the participants on the Elbe when Soviet and American troops met at the Elbe River.
(Слайд7)Fortunately, my Grandfather was lucky to return alive from this terrible war and to marry my granny. Now our family lives in Taganrog. He died when I was only ten, but the memory of him is still warm in my mind. He was a brave soldier and a good person, and I'm proud to tell this story about him now. His deed will be always remembered by Russia and its citizens. Every year we share a memory and grief of this war on May 9. That's why this day’s motto is “Nothing and nobody will be ever forgotten”.
(Слайд8)Today every family keeps and honors the photos of its ancestors who fought at that inhuman war. It’s been more than 70 years ago, but people still remember and commemorate this global event.
(Слайд9-11)The immortality alley was laid in the city of Taganrog in 1969.Four boxes with the ground were delivered from the battlefields, where fierce fightings took place during the Great Patriotic War. There were corresponding labels on this alley. A huge stone installed there has a commemorative table: “There are boxes from the hero cities of Moscow,Leningrad,Volgograd, Sevastopol, Odessa and many others. The feat of people is immortal.”
