Cathedral of the Assumption

• One of wonderful places of Ryazan is the Cathedral of the Assumption in the Kremlin. It is a heart of our town. This Cathedral is the main symbol of Ryazan.

• This cathedral is the largest building of the 17th century. His architect is a serf ( крепостной ) Jacob Bukhvostov.

• The modern cathedral was built to replace the old destroyed one. The Cathedral is famous for its wooden iconostasis, which is inside.

• If we look at it from the outside, it seems that the cathedral has 3 floors. But in fact, it is one huge spaceful hall.

• The Cathedral of the Assumption stands on the top of the Kremlin’s hill and can be seen for 20 kilometers.

• I like this place because it is very beautiful and quiet. It reminds me of my childhood. I often went there with my family . I think , it is a favorite place of all the people of Ryazan . The Cathedral of the Assumption is one of the wonders of our city .
