COMDITIONALS
TEST I.
I. Rewrite the sentences using an «if» construction.
Model: I didn’t see the signal, so I didn’t stop. – If I had seen the signal, I would have stopped.
I didn’t know the number, so I didn’t ring.
She didn’t speak to him, possibly because she was so shy.
It was raining. That’s the only reason I didn’t take the children to the beach.
We didn’t go by air only because we didn’t have enough money.
II. Put the verbs in brackets into the correct forms.
I should be delighted if I (to have) such a beautiful fur-coat.
If it (to rain), we will have to stay at home.
If he (to work) hard, he would have achieved great progress.
If it not too cold, I (not to put on) my coat.
I wish I (to know) Spanish.
I wish ( not to drink) so much coffee in the evening: I couldn’t sleep half the night.
He wishes he (can, to read) more.
She wishes she never (to suggest) this idea.
III. Translate the sentences.
Если бы я был свободен сейчас!

TEST II.
I.Rewrite the sentences using an «if» construction.

She didn’t know you were in hospital, so she didn’t visit you.
We won’t go to see them because it is very late.
They were driving very quickly. That’s why the accident was so terrible.
He didn’t get to the top of his profession, perhaps, because his wife didn’t encourage him.
II. Put the verbs in brackets into the correct forms.

III. Translate the sentences.

II. Put the verbs in brackets into the correct forms.

TEST IV.
I.Rewrite the sentences using an «if» construction.
