Dakshinavarti Shankh is available in white colors and many of them have spectacular brown lines on it. Dakshinavarti Shankh signifies Maa Laxmi the Hindu Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity. The idols of Lakshmi always carry Dakshinavarti Shankh in one of her hands. It is available in two types of skin structure namely a rough surface, the other being fully polished and refined plain surface as shown above, however, both are natural and have equivalent effects.

Dakshinawarti Shankh

Dakshinawarti Shankh is actually a sea conch or shell which opens on the right-hand side. Seashells of different kinds are available in the market at a very huge quantity then these seashells open on the left-hand side. It is very rare uncommon to find.

Dakshinavarti Shankh shell which opens towards the left hand is generally available but rare the seashells which open towards Right-hand Side. There are very rare and special Shankh and one amongst them is the Dakshinavarti Shankh. It comes in various sizes and different shapes. Dakshina means once holding Shankh the south side. So it is called Dakshinavarti Shankh. It is considered very propitious, auspicious, and fortunate and kept at puja only. It has the right-hand twists in the bottom side and so the name Dakshinavarti Shankh.

It is always suggested that every house shall have “Dakshinavarti Shankh” for wealth, prosperity, good luck, affluence, and richness. It kept on a white cloth in Puja Ghar, if need to be kept in the locker. It is the much-loved of Deity Lakshmi. It is very hard to get and the value is quite high and varies.

 

In the Puranas, the deities are described as holding a shell, when they are happy and setting out on the war. When the shell is blown it is said to purify the environment from bad, evil and immoral effects. Even the scientists and experts have agreed with the fact that the blowing of conch growths the positive qualities in the atmosphere such as determination, courage, will-power, hopefulness, positivity, etc.
