Present Simple is used to describe:

• A permanent state or situation: I live in the town where I was born.
• A fact : The earth goes around the sun.
• An Activiti which happens regularly: He gets up at six o’clock every day

Frequency Adverbs

• 100% -always I always watch TV in the evening.
• 70% -usually
• 40% -often
• 20% -sometimes
• 10% -rarely,seldom I seldom eat chips.
• 0% -never I never drink milk.
• We usually put frequency adverbs before the main verb: We sometimes watch a film.
• With am,is,are, was,were,can, after the verb: They are always late!
• If we want to, we can put usually, often,sometimes at the beginning or end of a sentence: I feel tired sometimes . Often we eat in the garden.
• We can form questions using: How often do you swim?, Do you always walk to school?

Affirmative (+)

Negative (-)

• I/you/we/they don’t sleep
• He/she/it doesn’t sleep

Interrogative (?)
