The Chuvash Republic is actively developing the system of preschool education. At present 360 pre-school educational institutions operate, pre-school children groups are opened in 230 schools (48.5% of the total number of schools). About 76 000 children get pre-school education. I general 79.7% of preschool children aged from 1 year to 7 years pet pre-school education.

In 2015 in the framework of modernization of preschool education by constructing, reconstructing, efficient use of space in the functioning kindergartens 2613 places for children were opened.

There is no queue for the children older than three years at any municipality, but 60% of nursery schools accept children older 2 years.

Work on the implementation of various forms of preschool education is continued.

Various conditions for continuous psychological-medical-pedagogical support of children with disabilities are created in preschool educational institutions of the Chuvash Republic. For this purpose 166 specialized groups, covering more than 2000 children, including 630 children with disabilities function. About 2000 children with disabilities are integrated into the educational environment and receive education in preschool educational institutions of general developmental orientation.
