Урок английского языка в 6 классе

Тип урока: игра-соревнование

Цель: формирование знаний о достопримечательностях Великобритании

Задачи:

- формирование социокультурной компетенции;

-развитие коммуникативных навыков;

- развитие языковой догадки и мышления.

Оснащение урока: мультимедийная игра, раздаточный материал, презентация с фотографиями достопримечательностей Великобритании.

Тема урока: “Places of interest in London”




Ход мероприятия:


  1. Организационный момент.


1. Приветствие.

T: Good afternoon, dear friends. I’m very glad to see you. Sit down, please.


2. Сообщение темы и цели урока.

T: Today we will speak about places of interest in London. We have 2 teams “Londoners” and “Trevellers”. We will have a very interesting competition. You will have different tasks. Be active and friendly.

You will get points for the right answer. Жюри будут подсчитывать ваши очки. Let’s start our competition.


3. Речевая зарядка.

T: Look at the blackboard. You can see the names of sightseeings in London. Repeat after me all together.

T: And now match the sights with their names.

  1. T: The first task will be “ Guess the sight”. I’ll read you the description of the sight and you should guess it.

Учитель зачитывает небольшие рассказы. Задача учеников угадать, о каких достопримечательностях Лондона идёт речь.


a.There are many old and new beautiful parks in London. This park is the largest one. It is one of the most popular places of Londoners during the hot summer days. The park is famous for its Speaker's Corner. {Hyde Park.)

b. It was a fortress, a palace, a prison, a mint and the King's Zoo. Now it is a museum. You can see a lot of interesting things in the halls of this building. William the Conqueror built it in the eleventh century. Black ravens live in it. People believe that London will be rich while the ravens live there. (the Tower of London.)

c.   It is one of the greatest English churches. It is not far from the Tower of London. The famous English architect Sir Christopher Wren built it in the 17th century after the Great Fire. It is a fine building with many columns and towers. In one of the towers there is one of the largest bells in the world. (St. Paul's Cathedral.)

d.It is more than nine hundred years old. There are many monuments and statues there, many English kings and queens are buried there. It is famous for the Poets’ Corner. It is one of the most famous and beautiful churches in London. This church has two tall towers. (Westminster Abbey.)

e.   It is a long grey building with towers. The large clock in one of the towers is known as "Big Ben". You can hear the sound of "Big Ben" every hour in London. The members of the British Parliament work in this building, (the Houses of Parliament.)



f. It’s the place where British kings and queens live when they are in London. When the Queen is inside you can see the flag over it. Important visitors often go to this place. They meet Queen Elizabeth and the royal family there. A lot of tourists go to visit this place. They stand outside and see the Changing of the Guard. (Buckingham Palace)

g. It’s one of the famous bridges across the Thames. It was built in 1894. It’s next to the Tower of London. It opens and ships go up and down the river Thames. (Tower Bridge)

h. It’s a place where different meetings take place. In the middle of this square there is Nelson Column. (Trafalgar Square)

i. It’s one of the sights of London. You can meet great characters of history and art there. Actors, film stars, pop-singers and sportsmen come face to face with famous politicians. There is a special place for the Queen’s family. It has one of the largest collections of wax models in the world. (Madam Tussaud’s Museum)

j. Visiting this place you can act in a Hollywood Western, select a film to watch or even draw your own cartoon film. During your visit you can also meet characters from the past and ask any questions about the time in history. You will enjoy your visit to this place. (MOMI)
