Essay "The theatre is a temple of art "

There are many people who strongly believe that nowadays the theatre is less popular than the cinema. A different view is that theatre will soon disappear. However many people think that it is true while others are strongly against.

I think that this saying is false. To start with, there is a point of view that theater is one of the best means of art and entertainment, which brings cultural enrichment. It uses live performers on stage to express different plays. The theatre is an inseparable part of the intellectual life of any country. Besides, we can even say that the theatre as an art reflects the state of society and of the mind of the nation. In every country theatre has its own history and traditions .

My opponents may object by saying that due to the popularity of television and Internet theatre has lost a great deal of its attraction. They may continue by saying that theatre tickets are very expensive, especially in good theatres. So we can say that a visit to a famous theatre has become a luxury.

I don’t fully agree with my opponents .Nobody can imagine his life without art. It is role in our life is tremendous. Truly enough, art develops sense of beauty, such qualities as kindness, sympathy, it teaches us to hate cruelty. In addition, art makes our life more interesting and  increases our cultural level.

To sum up, although theatre of the 21st century has lost its position of spiritual development of man ,we can safely say that the theater remains a temple where human souls are healed and eternal values are preserved.
