Exercises Idioms of comparison

Idioms help us keep our speech live. Native speakers of all languages use quite a number of idioms and phrasals. Idioms od similarity are widely used both in Russian and English. Tis worksheet wil be of great help while rrvising ways of comparison with intermediate and upper-intermediate students. They are to be able to compare not with grammatical structures only but using vocabulary as well. Idioms are what we come across in everyday communication. The first activity asks the students to match the idioms weith their Russian equivalents. The second activity tell to complete the gaps in the sentences with idoms. The third one gives situations where the students are supposed to use idioms as well. The last activity is speaking practice for the "strong" students. They extend any of the situations given in activity 3 and build up their own dialogue using one of the idioms.
