I.Организационный момент. Начало урока.
Учитель: We talk to you about body art today. Body art is one of the forms of art. (Слайд №1) It can be divided in tattoos and body piercing. (Слайд №2) I think this topic is very interesting for you. This topic is interesting for my generation, too.
Look at pictures and say about your reactions, please. (Слайд №3)
У1, 2, 3: Nothing can beat it! It’s the tops! Cool! Super! Perfect! Terrific! It’s awful! It’s rotten!
Warming-up!
Учитель: What do you think? Why do people do piercing and tattoos? (Слайд №4)

II. Основная часть.
1. Чтение текста с выделением нужной информации.
Учитель: There are different reasons. Read the text about Geoff Ostling and tell me why did this man tattoo his body? (Слайд №5)
У1: He wanted something unusual.
У2: Mr Ostling has promised to donate his skin to Canberra’s National Gallery after his death.
Учитель: You are right. Let’s speak a little about piercing. Read the other text and find the answers for next questions, please. (Слайд №6)
1) How long have women pierced their ears?
У1: For ages.
2) What do men and women pierce now?
У2: Ears, eyebrows, noses, tongues, lips, navels.
3) Why do they do it?
У3: Not to be like everybody else on the planet.
4) Why is the young man in the picture proud of his pierced face?
У4: It’s very exotic. You feel very well dressed and elegant.
5) What do dentists say about tongue stud?
У5: They can be bad for your health. Tongue studs may cause infection and speech problems. They can interrupt breathing and damage teeth.
2. Подготовка и защита проекта по теме.
Учитель: There are arguments for and against piercing and tattoos. Choose arguments for piercing or tattoo, please. (Слайд №7)

У3: It’s creative!
У4: It’s very exotic!
У5: It’s elegant!
У6: It differs you from other people.
У7: Tattoo is stylish!
У8: It helps to feel confident.
Учитель: Name arguments against body piercing and tattoos.

У2: It’s health risking.
У3: It can be bad for your skin.
У4: It’s absolutely horrible!
У5: Piercing procedure is painful.
У6: This procedure may cause infection.
У7: It may cause allergic reactions.
У8: Complete healing takes several weeks.
Учитель: Now we have a group work. One group will be a beauty company for piercing, the other - a beauty company for tattoos. They must advertise their companies and convince young people to do body piercing or tattoos. The third group will be doctors who are against piercing and tattoos. They must do a leaflet for teens. Choose the task. 5 minutes for preparing your projects.

Our Beauty Company invites you to do body piercing. You can pierce ears, lips, noses, eyebrows, tongues, navels. It is painless and cheap. The best specialists, modern techniques and equipment are for you. You will differ from other people.
We are waiting for you!
Gr.2: Don’t do piercing and tattoo!
It’s very dangerous! It’s a risk for your health. Health problems may include infection and allergic reactions. Nobody can give you 100% of a guarantee. A new piercing will be sore for several days. Compete healing normally takes several weeks. Don’t forget it!
