Тема: Generation Gap


Тип урока: комбинированный урок


Цель: формирование речевых навыков по теме «Generation Gap».


Задачи:

Обучающие:

  • активизировать лексические и грамматические структуры в речи;

  • расширять лексический запас учащихся по теме;

  • учить строить монологическое высказывание по теме;

  • совершенствовать навыки чтения.

Развивающие:

  • развивать познавательный интерес;

  • развивать познавательные процессы;

  • развивать творческие навыки.

Воспитательные:

  • воспитывать бережное отношение к слову;

  • развивать навыки сотрудничества и корректного общения;

  • формировать нравственные качества личности, такие как толерантность, взаимопонимание, уважение к окружающим людям.

I. Организационный момент


1. Greeting


Teacher: Good morning, dear friends! Let’s great our guests! Take your seats, please. I'm glad to see you at our English lesson. I hope you are fine and ready to work hard.


2. About topic and tasks


Teacher: So, let's begin our lesson. Look at the screen, please. There is some short poem on it. Let’s read it and guess the topic of our lesson (Слайд 1).


If life gives you lemons – make lemonade.

If life gives you strict teachers – thank them.

If life gives you strict parents – obey them.


Teacher: Let’s translate this poem into Russian. … do, please.


Teacher: So what are we going to speak about? (Pupils: We’ll speak about family problems.)

- You’re right. The topic of our lesson is “Generation Gap” (Слайд 1).

Today we are to answer the questions:

1. What problems are there between parents and their children? and

2. How can we solve them?

1. Brain storm «We need a family …»


Teacher: And we'll begin our lesson with the brain storm. You should complete the sentence “We need a family …” (Слайд 2). So, who can tell me why we need a family?

(Answers: to have support, not to feel lonely, to be needed, to procreate)


2. Work with questions


Teacher: Now answer some questions, please. (Give a full answer.)


- Is your family large or small?

- How many members are there in your family?

- Do you have any problems with your parents?

- What problems do you have?

Teacher: Look at the screen, please. There are some new words and expressions there. We need them in the text about John’s problems with his parents. Let’s learn them (Слайды 3-19).

Teacher: Now you are working in pairs. Listen to the song about John's problems with his parents and tick all the problems that John mentioned. They are in list on your paper sheets. But first look all these problems through. Are you ready?

Teacher: And now let’s answer some questions. But first open your books on page 119 and find exercise 7. There is the text there. You may use the sentences from it to answer the questions.

3. What things are the most important in relationship with parents for John?

VI. Составление монологического высказывания по теме (работа с деформированными предложениями)


Teacher: So, let’s go on. There are some things that can be wished parents and children. Let’s make some sentences. You will work in groups. The first group consists of …. The second group includes …. The third group consists of …. And the forth group consists of … On these paper sheets there are some words and word combinations. The first and the second groups should make the sentences about parent’s wishes. The third and the fourth groups should make the sentences about children’s wishes. You’ll have only 3 minutes for doing it. Let’s begin.

VII. Способы разрешения конфликтов между детьми и их родителями


Teacher: Thank you very much. We all know that sometimes or may be very often conflicts between parents and their children are appeared in every family. And what is the best way to solve the problems with parents?

P1: You must analyze the reasons of your problems.

P2: You must try to understand your parents and explain to them that you can be responsible and they can rely on you in some serious things.

P3: You shouldn’t talk back to parents.

P4: You shouldn’t argue with their parents about doing homework and other things.

We can see that all the problems in the family can be solved if parents and teenagers try to understand and trust each other.


VIII. Задание на дом


Teacher: Well, today at the lesson we discussed very important problems. Leo Tolstoy once wrote: “All happy families are alike.” I believe it is true. When a family is happy it means that all members of the family trust each other, tell each other about their joys and sorrows. A lucky person is that who finds peace, consolation and support with the dearest. Your home task is to write a composition “Problems in the Family”
