Literature
Getting started literature?
First - by imitating Western models . Karamzin created in the style of the current at that time in Europe sentimentalism Zhukovsky - translated romantic poets , Lomonosov - just rhymed his philosophical views , Fonvisin and Catherine II in his plays imitated fashionable while didactic plays . And at first it was believed that literature - is high genre , so you should write not as commonly spoken people , and more pompous , pretentious. Then came Pushkin and broke all notions of literature : criticism (rightly ) accused him of banality rhymes to use archaic words in excessive borrowing of foreign languages, distorting the words for the sake of rhyme or rhythm of the poem , in the permutation of stresses in words (again same - to the rhythm of the poem did not break ) - that is, in all that now can not be forgiven therefore begins . But it was Pushkin first began to write in a way that turned close and clear to everyone , he made colloquial speech truly literary , and since then everything has already written that way. In addition, the inner world of Pushkin was so deep, and his work so richly neizbity metaphors and images that Pushkin long forgiven all the errors that are not haunted by his contemporary critics. Pushkin is really unmatched by anyone and is rightfully considered the number one poet in Russian literature.
What is different from the classical modern literature?
In my opinion, in its first sense, that is the most that neither is on classical literature , this literature, which is studied classical scholar , that is ancient - Greece and Rome - the cornerstone.
In its second meaning, which we are most likely are talking about , " classic literature " is a first product of different forms of perfection , as sonnets of Shakespeare , Pushkin's poetry , prose and Nabokov White and so on. Secondly, as a rule, what is commonly ascribe classics - their eternal relevance. Dostoevsky and Dante can reread endlessly discovering something new - although , in general, it follows from the first paragraph : brilliantly done thing is always nice to take again and again. Third, as a rule, a classic in the true sense , can be called someone who has significantly influenced the suschestvovashego tradition before him . Ie world theater ceased to be what it was before Ibsen and Chekhov , prose - without Dostoevsky, Tolstoy , Proust and Joyce , and so on ...
I here on these points stopped , though it all and rather arbitrary .
They teach people good books?
Speaking for myself, I only read fiction. They often forget the name, and the author, and even plot. Usually there is only experience. Of course, the book gives a lot for the overall development, but I read purely for pleasure and not for self. While this certainly is a side effect, which is nice.
And I do not believe that books can teach something morally. I think we should not overestimate the role of books in our lives.
Why people do not read much?
