Present Simple
Exercise 1. Use the Present Simple Tense instead of the infinitives in brackets.
1. My dad (to work) in Saudi Arabia. 2. The Bible (to say) love of money is the root of all evil. 3. She never (to get) up very early. 4. The concert (to begin) at 6 this evening. 5. Can she manage? I (to hope) so. 6. He (to drive) to Moscow once a week. 7. In the film he (to play) the central character of David Copperfield. 8. She (to be) a very good sister. We (to love) her. 9. The children (to eat) a lot of ice-cream. 10. Babies normally (to lose) weight in the beginning. 11. It seldom (to rain) here. 12 Не (to speak) to us every morning. 13. He often (to write) to us. 14. Exercise 2. Read the sentences and correct them as the information is wrong. Write two correct sentences.
Examples: The sun rises in the West.
The sun doesn't rise in the West. The sun rises in the East.
1. Mice catch cats. 2. The Earth goes round the Moon. 3. The river Volga flows into the Black Sea. 4. Patients look after nurses in hospitals. 5. Water boils at 50 degrees Centigrade. 6. Exercise 3 Make the following sentences: a) negative; b) interrogative.
1. Her sister studies at an Institute. 2. My mother usually comes home at 6 o'clock. 3. We often go to school together. 4. Tom and Nick play football very well. 5. His brother finishes his work at 6 o'clock. 6. I meet Jane every day. 7. They usually spend their holidays in the Caucasus. 8. His friend lives in Paris. 9. I get up late on Sundays.
Exercise 4. Make up questions and answer them.
Example: study English / study French (Ann)
Does Ann study English or French? She studies English.

Exercise 5. Insert do or does.
