Наглядность: схема образования пассивного залога, карточки с тремя формами неправильных глаголов, карточки с грамматическим заданием, раздаточный материал для этапа рефлексии.

Give Russian equivalents.

3. Take your cards and listen to the poem. Pay attention to the verbs which underline. How does author translate these verbs? What is the same in these words?

You are right. These verbs translate with the help of the word “был or были”. So, we will use such verbs in our topic today. The topic of our lesson is Passive Voice.

That was a Lady from Niger

Who smiled when she rode on a tiger.

They returned from the ride

With the Lady inside.

And with smile on the face of the tiger

Whom was the Lady eaten by? Was the Lady eaten by the crocodile? Was the Lady eaten by the tiger? Was the Lady eaten by the tiger or crocodile ?

Today will begin new topic called “The Passive Voice”. Today we will learn why and when we use it. First, what is the Voice?

Залог – это форма глагола, которая показывает: сам предмет или лицо выполняют действие (действительный залог) или действие производится над предметом или лицом (страдательный залог).

How is the difference of the translations of active and passive voices?

What’s happen with the order of words in these sentences?

Let’s look through the Simple tenses of the passive voice. There you can see all the forms of the Simple Passive Voice.

Don’t forget about the preposition “by” when you use the Passive Voice.

Let’s try to use the Passive Voice in the sentences. The next task is to choose the tense and use the right form of the verb.

Find Passive constructions: Present Simple, Past Simple. Future Simple:

1.The book will be written in a month.

2.The contract was signed last Tuesday.

3.The questions will be answered tomorrow.

4.The guests were invited to the party.

5.Kurumoch is located not far from Samara.

6.Passengers will be offered dinner during the flight.

Put the sentences in the Passive Voice:

1. The teacher gives the test.

2. Alice told an interesting story.

3. The Smiths showed us their house.

4. Ben sent e-mail to Lee.

5. Ann read that book yesterday.

6. We bought a new car a week ago.
