«Ideas About Voluntary Work»
Volunteering is essential for teenagers
Voluntary work is any activity that involves spending time, unpaid (free of charge), doing something that aims to benefit to the environment of someone. It must be a choice freely made. Some people believe that voluntarism is a form of slavery, while others consider that it is a good way to develop yourself and meet new people. I think, that volunteering is a wonderful opportunity for young people to get new experience in different sorts of jobs and better understand who you want to be.
Оn the one hand, people are convinced that volunteering is a waste of time and money. Some of them believe that voluntary organizations put donated money to their wallet. Such people often say that they have no time for volunteering. In my opinion, you may not only donate money, but implement food for animal shelters or help orphans.
On other hand, there are a lot people who take part in different volunteer activities. They may help sick children, organize social events, walk with dogs from shelters and anything they want! I think that volunteering is a great opportunity to develop personality, because while you volunteer you expand personal qualities and outlook. Actually, there are a lot of young organizations in Yaroslavl such as Yarspas, which finds missing people, Students Union promotes patriotic education of youth and a healthy lifestyle, Kovcheg is a shelter for animals where you may walk with dogs and other volunteer organizations.
As for me, my family and I collect waste paper and give it for a charity. Besides, we donate clothes to the needy people. But I like the idea to be a teacher or a nurse abroad, because I think that it will develop different qualities in me. I consider that taking part in volunteer projects may help you in future. In my opinion, my friends will approve this idea and someone of them will join me. I think everyone should try volunteering at some point in their life. And it’s not only about being useful to your community. Volunteering teaches you about yourself and the world around you. You begin to appreciate what you have, but might have been taking for granted, because you see so many people who can’t afford the simplest things that you use every day without noticing it. When you understand the real value of things, you grow up.
To sum it up, there are different convictions about volunteering. However, I believe that voluntary work is a great chance for everyone to help someone, because it may back to you as boomerang.
