на тему «Mix It Up day»

Цель: познакомить учащихся с Международным днем толерантности
Задачи:
учебные:
- обучение способам совместной деятельности;
- совершенствование употребления лексики по темам: «Толерантность», «Страны и города»;
- развитие навыков аудирования, чтения, говорения и письма.
развивающие:
- демонстрация значения английского языка в диалоге культур;
- формирование мировоззрения личности, общей культуры и культуры речи, развитие мышления, памяти, чувств и эмоций, воображения, а также черт характера, как воля, целеустремленность, креативность, толерантность, потребность в самосовершенствовании, саморазвитии, самовоспитании.
воспитательные:
- совершенствование социальной компетенции учащихся;
- формирование у учащихся умения строить взаимоотношения в процессе взаимодействия с окружающими на основе сотрудничества и взаимопонимания, готовности принять других людей, иную культуру. Иные взгляды, иные традиции и обычаи.

Changing seats
Student 1: Dear friends! Today we’ll have an unusual lesson. It’s “Mix It Up” Lesson. We should know more about each other, what tolerance is, how we should be tolerant. We’ll learn how say compliments to each other.
Student 2: Now we are going to change seats for this lesson and mix up. I’ll give you cards of different colours. Students with the same cards should sit together.
Teacher distribute colourful cards and students change their seats.
Announcing the aim of the lesson.
Student 1: Today we’ll speak about tolerance. But can you explain in Russian what tolerance is?
Students explain in Russian how they understand the word tolerance.
Watching the tolerance presentation
Student 2: Tolerance is a willingness to allow people to do, say, or believe what they want without criticizing them.
Student 1: Tolerance is a way to achieve piece and switch from the culture of war to the culture of piece.
Student 2: Tolerance is a social value and a social norm of every society.
Student 1:
If the population of the world was 100 people, there would be:
57 Asian people,
21 Europeans,
14 Northern and Southern Americans,
52 women, 48 men,
If you have food in your fridge,
You are dressed,
You have your own home,
You are not those 2 billion people who can’t read.
Someone asks you to work as if you don’t need any money.
If you are reading this text, you are happy because someone is thinking about you.
Love as though no one has hurt you.
Dance as if no one is looking at you.
Sing as if no one hears you.
Live as if you are in Paradise.
Singing a song
Student 1: We are all different, but we live in one world. Let’s sing the song “One Small World”.
Playing a game “I am unique and special”
Student 2: We are going to play a game “I am unique and special”. Say what your name is. Say why you are unique. Examples are: I am very kind./ I can play football very well./ I help my friends./ I sing beautiful songs.
Students introduce themselves and tell their classmates about their good qualities.
Playing a game “Put-Ups”
Student 1: We are going to play a game “Put-Ups”. We have cards with names of students in this group.
Student 2: All together we should say and write why we like every boy or girl and stick this card on the wall paper.
Cards with student’s names are hidden in the box. Organizers go along the desks. Students take cards in turn, write and say why they like this person. Organizers stick cards to the wall paper.
Playing a game “Happy faces”
Student 1: Everyone has a bad day once in a while. This activity will helps us be sensitive to schoolmates who might be having a bad day and gives them a way to cross boundaries and bring cheer to others.
Student 2: We are playing a game “Happy faces”. Take a card and write who this person is. Glue it on the wall paper.
Making a group photo
Student 1: It’s time to finish our Mix It Up lesson. We hope it was happy. Let’s finish it with our group photo.
When the group photo is ready, students glue it on the wall paper and hang the wall paper in the school corridor for other classes to see and read it.
