She was a famous Russian dancer. From 1928 she danced in the Kirov Opera and the Ballet Theatre in Leningrad and from 1944 1928 she danced in the Bolshoi Theatre.

She retired ( ушла ) from the stage in 1962 and devoted ( посвятила ) her life to the training of young ballet dancers.

Великая балерина Галина Сергеевна Уланова

В честь нее выпущены марки, денежные купюры, теплоход назван ее именем, в Ленинграде и в других городах стоят ее памятники .Ни одному человеку при жизни не было памятника. А в Финляндии был памятник Галине Улановой за ее великий дар-танцовщицы. Ровно 100 лет исполняется в этом году.
