“It's a weird world”

Учитель: Мосолова Е.Н.

Ведущие: учащиеся 9А класса, участники 2 группа 7А класса.

Цель: развивать познавательные интересы учащихся, воспитание культуры общения, дисциплины, ответственности; развивать умение работать в команде.

Задачи: развивать творческие способности; навыки устной речи, чтения, аудирования.

Межпредметные связи: география, история, литература.

Оборудование: задания для конкурсов (экраны), презентация с заданиями, компьютер, проектор, аудиоколонки, видео, карточки с именами ведущих, количеством баллов.

We're going to play a game. It’s a kind of a quiz. Our quiz is called It’s a weird world and it is about strange and unusual things.

We’ ll ask you questions and the teams will ask questions too until they know the answer. The time limit for each question is 2 minutes.

If the team answers correctly, they get 20 points.

1. People in GB do the best to keep their traditions. E.g. they still have red double-decker busses and telephone boxes. What about Japan? How do people in Japan use old telephone boxes? (They use them as aquariums)

2. The American town of Yuma is the sunniest place in the world. It has 4050 sunny hours a year out of 4456. It is the in the Guinness book of records. How do the people use the place? (There is the largest solar power station here.)

3. What unusual music does the American Composer David Teie write? (Music for cats)

4. This European country is very small but it has a railway station, a 700 metres railroad? Its own money and the guards. What country is it? (Vatican)

2. We have different celebrations in our country May Day, Victory Day, City Day. What unusual day is celebrated in the Hermitage in St Petersburg? (the Hermitage cat day)

3. There is something unique in Russia that people in other countries don’t have. What is it? (dachas)

10 There is something unique in Russia that people in other countries don’t have. It has the Russian name in other languages. Many Russian families have it. What is it ?

Dachas

• Дача – сугубо русское явление, во многих европейских языках она так и называется – dacha. Считается, что первые дачи появились в России ещё в начале XVIII века, в эпоху Петра I. Изначально это были, скорее, не дачи, а усадьбы под Петербургом, которые царь даровал своим приближённым за заслуги перед государством. Хотя как раз тогда вошло в обиход слово «дача» — производное от глагола «давать».
