As archaeological excavations show, back in the second millennium BC, the current territory of the district was inhabited by ancient peoples engaged in agriculture and cattle breeding. For many centuries, the territories of the future city served as camps for nomads. Since 1571, a permanent public watchdog service has been organized within the current Kalacheyevsky district.

Kalacheyevskaya cult cave. It is the second longest man-made chalk cave in Eastern Europe. The uniqueness of the structure lies in its multi—level structure - there are two tiers and a so-called basement, which is now completely filled up.

The square named after Lenin Street. This is the historical and shopping center of Sloboda. The buildings of the administration of the Kalacheyevsky municipal district, the urban settlement of Kalach, the Museum of local lore, the open-air museum, and so on are located and etc.

Monument to J.F. Jacobin

Jacques Felixovich Jacobin, Slovenian agronomist and engineer, lived and worked in Kalac from 1932 to 1993. He came to the USSR from France on a motorcycle in 1932 in order to benefit from the construction of socialism. He died in 1993 at the age of 96 in the Kalacheyevsky boarding house for the elderly. He became famous as the inventor of mainly agricultural machinery.

Kalach Kupechesky Park. The concept of the park is based on the story of Ivan Komov, a native of Kalach, a philanthropist, and a merchant. At one time, he had a significant influence on shaping the appearance of the city, building houses at his own expense, which have now become objects of cultural heritage.

The estate of merchant and philanthropist Ivan Komov. One of the most elegant houses in Kalach. The facade of the building is full of stucco decorations. Of the metal decorative elements, the canopy in front of the entrance on cast-iron curly columns and the luxurious interior grand staircase have been preserved.
