Well. At the beginning of our lesson I want you to revise numerals and the names of animals. Look at the blackboard, please. Your 1st task is to listen to some animals sounds and guess what animal it is and say which animal is the first (the second, etc), and which animal is wild (domestic)

a) Good of you, children!

Now let’s see how you know the words. Your second task is to pull the word out of the bag, match the word and the picture, and make up the sentence with this word. But you should be attentive, because there are more pictures than the words in the bag.

b) Well done!

Let’s continue. Your next task is to compare animals or parts of their bodies

Good job!

Children, where do we live?

You know the flora and the fauna of our country is very rich.

Your next task is to guess the crossword. We’ll see if you know the animals living in our country.

Students name all of the animals using Ordinals

Ex: The first animal is a horse. It’s a domestic animal.

Students go to the blackboard and pull the word to the right picture. They also make up the sentence with this word.

Ex: It’s a tongue. I can not talk without my tongue.

Students compare the animals, using the degrees of comparison of adjectives.

Ex: The white monkey is funny. The brown monkey is funnier. The black monkey is the funniest.

We live in Kazakhstan.

Students go to the blackboard and write the words into the crossword

Sound record “Animals”

Students sing the song doing the exercises

IV) Listening Comprehension

7 minutes

At home you learnt to spell some words. Let’s check up. a) I’ll give you the cards with the text. You have to listen to the text and fill in the missing words.

b) Answer my questions, please:

- Where does Mr. Day live?

- When does he get up?

- What has he got in the centre of London?

-What domestic animals are there on his farm?

c) Now, let’s check the task (I open the word)

So, pupils, exchange your papers and put the marks to each other. Those, who has not got any mistakes or who has only one mistake, have 5. Those, who has 2 or 3 mistakes -4, 4-5 mistakes -3, 6 and more mistakes-2.

I gather the cards.

Students listen to the text “Milk From Cows, Not Bottles” and fill in the gaps.

  • He lives in London

  • He gets up at 5 o’clock

  • He has got a farm in the centre of London

  • There are many domestic animals on his farm: cows, horses, pigs, sheep, ducks.

Pupils check each other.

V) Checking up the homework.

Oral speech.

12 minutes

How clever you are!

At home you had to draw a picture of your favourite animal. Show us your pictures, please.

And now look at the blackboard. You see a monkey and sentences describing it. If you place the word in the sentence correctly, you will get the text. You can use it as a sample to describe your favourite animal.

Pupils show their pictures.

Pupils go to the blackboard and match the words from the right column with the sentences in the left column.

After that they speak about their favourite animals.

VI) Reflection

1 minute

OK, girls and boys, you have worked well today. Did you like the lesson? Our lesson is over. But look at the blackboard. You see the sun and the cloud. When you go out the classroom and if you like the lesson and everything is clear for you, you should stick the yellow beams on the sun. But if you don’t like the lesson, you’ll stick the blue tears on the cloud.

Good bye, children!

Good bye, teacher!
