Form of implementation: the 4th grade

The theme of the lesson: “The Place We Live In.”

The aim: practice our skills in speaking ,reading and listening.

The objectives:

  • To develop pupil’s interest to the learning language

By the end of the lesson students will be able to:

  • use the structure “to be going to do something” in sentences,

write and use new lexis in speech;

- speak about holidays in Brighrton; answer Eva’s questions about her flat

-

Materials and equipment: CD player and CD with lexis, cards, pictures, the students presentation, board

Language to be revised: in the corner, in the middle, lovely, wonderful, furniture,

curtains, corner, quiet ,in the South, a double ,a hotel.


LESSON PROCEDURE


1 .The beginning of the lesson.

1. T: Good morning, boys and girls! I am glad to see you!

S: Good morning, teacher! We are glad to see you too.

T: What date is it today? What day of the week is it today?

S:Today is Friday, the 25th of Novmber. Nobody is absent (or……are absent)

I think the weather is…..

2. T: What is the topic of our lesson today?

What are we going to do today?.

S1:We are going to use the structure “to be going to do something”,

new lexis in speech.

S2: We are going to speak about the boy’s holidays in Brighrton.

S3: We are going to listen to the presentation and find out the necessary information in it.


T: Today we’ll work in teams. Choose the names of your teams. Each team will get stars for

good work ,correct reading, answers and questions. Good Luck to each team.

II. Speech drill.

T :Where are you going to have dinner?

Where are you going to take off your coat?

Where are you going to take a shower?

Where are you going to watch television?

Where are you going to sleep?






III. Т: Look at the pictures and ask what they are going to do.

Each team must ask three questions.













IV. Phonetic drill.

4.Where are they going to put the fireplace?

Т:Your homework for today was to read and translate the text about holidays in Brighton.

Look at the map of England. Brighton is a lovely place in the South of England. Here are

some photos of this town.












IX. Let’s find the best readers in your teams. You’ll get stars only

for excellent reading.



X . Now , give answers to the following questions.

Take the papers. Each team has three questions.


1 .Where did the boy and his father go last summer?

2.What is Brighton?

3.Where did he boy and his father live?

4.What is a double?

5.Where was the hotel?

6.How many weeks did they spend there?

7. Are they going to spend next holidays there again?

8. Are they going to live in the double next room again ?


XI. Now captains will tell us about the holidays in Brighton.
