Урок английского языка в 8 классе

Тема урока: «Исследование космоса: за и против».

Тип урока: комбинированный.

Форма урока: урок-дискуссия.

Цель: расширение кругозора учащихся и формирование навыков устной речи по теме «Космос»

Задачи:

Обучающая: закрепить знания учащихся по теме «Космос», активизировать и совершенствовать словарный запас учащихся;

Развивающая: формировать и развивать учебно-организационные умения и навыки (взаимоконтроль, самостоятельная работа, коллективная деятельность), развивать навыки диалогической речи, способствовать развитию умения анализировать и обобщать знания;

Воспитательная: формировать терпимое отношение и уважение к мнениям другого человека, воспитывать личностные качества, такие как ответственность, самостоятельность, способствовать воспитанию у учащихся чувства гордости за свою страну и уважения к достижениям других стран .

Здоровьесберегающая: предупреждать переутомляемость у учащихся путем смены деятельности.

Оснащение урока: проектор, лингафонный кабинет «Норд».

Ход урока:

1. Организационный момент.

Teacher: Good morning. I’m glad to see you. Sit down, please. Let’s begin our lesson. In the beginning of the lesson I’d like you to watch a short video.

Teacher: OK, can you guess what we are going to talk about?

Teacher: Yes, the theme of our lesson today is “Space exploration: for and against”.

1. Речевая зарядка.

Teacher: People have always dreamed about space. As you know the first book about space was written in the year 150. in the 16^th century Galileo made the first telescope and looked through it at the Moon and other planets. But the dream of travelling into space came true only in the 20^th century.

What facts about space exploration on the 20^th century do you know? Answer my questions:

1. Who was the first astronaut?

2. Who was the first man on the Moon?

3. Who was the first person to invent the idea of space rockets?

4. Who constructed the first spaceship?

Nowadays people know a lot about the Earth, the Moon, the Sun, about other planets of Solar System, about our galaxy called Milky Way. But it’s impossible to know everything about space.

Now I’d like you to listen to the text and learn some new facts about space and space exploration.

Open your laptops. Find track 17.(Malcolm Mann. Speaking and Listening. Macmillan. Exam Skills for Russia. Unite 4. Listening , ex. A,B) Open the file named “Space exploration” and do the task. You have to listen to the text and fill in the missing information. You have 5 min.

Teacher: At present government of many countries pay great attention to the problems of space. They spend a lot of money on space programs. But some people consider space research just a waste of money. While the others are sure that our future depends on space. Who is right? What’s your opinion?

Let’s discuss the problem. Don’t forget to use phrases of agreeing and disagreeing.

Teacher: I think all of you are right. There is no doubt that space technologies help people in many different fields of human every day’s activity. The successful examples of this are satellite navigation, the weather forecasting, TV and radio-signal transmission. But other world’s problems should not be forgotten too.
