Sport and leisure are not only good for your health, they can also bring a community together ( сплотить ). Local town councils ( Местные городские советы ) can play a key role by encouraging ( поощряя ) people of all ages to do sports and by creating ( создавая ) places where they can play. They can :

• create and develop sporting facilities, sports clubs and sports competitions.

• give anyone the opportunity ( давать возможность) to help by volunteering their time.

• use sport centers to create more job opportunities (дополнительные рабочие места) and reduce unemployment (сокращать уровень безработицы) .

• use sport to give children and young people the chance to improve (улучшить) their skills and shape their character.

• use sport to reduce crime (снизить уровень преступности)
