Грамматика: Present Perfect with superlative adjectives
Superlative Adjectives(Прилагательные превосходной степени)
You should look at the comparative adjectives lesson before you study superlative adjectives.
Julie is the shortest student in the class.
This means no one is shorter than Julie. We use superlativeadjectives to say one thing is the most/least in a group of three or more.
How to make Superlative Adjectives
Add est to one-syllable adjectives. If it ends in e, just add st. If it ends in vowel + consonant, add consonant + est.
Adjective | Comparative | Superlative |
long | longer | the longest |
large | larger | the largest |
big | bigger | the biggest |
If the adjective ends in y, remove the y and add iest.
Adjective | Comparative | Superlative |
pretty | prettier | the prettiest |
If the adjective has two or more syllables, add most.
Adjective | Comparative | Superlative |
boring | more boring | the most boring |
There are also some irregular adjectives to remember:
Adjective | Comparative | Superlative |
good | better | the best |
bad | worse | the worst |
far | further | the furthest |
The present perfect is used with superlative forms of adjectives to express emphasis:(Настоящий совершенный используется с превосходными формами прилагательных, чтобы подчеркнуть:)

This is the worst film I have ever seen.(Это худший фильм, который я когда-либо видел.) Чтение: Ex2. Reading skills. Make it clear that the aim here is to get a general sense of the text as a whole, not to take in all the details. Set the time limit and ask students to read quickly through to the end. If there’s something they don’t understand they should ignore it and keep doing. Ask students to cover the text and answer the question. Before looking at the text again, focus on the photos and ask students to say where the places are. Ask them to check as they re-read the text.

As you check the answer, ask students to correct the false sentences and to pick out parts of the text to support the true ones.
Устная речь и игры: Ex1. Ask the questions and choose a student to read out the example. Discuss the question with the class. If they need help with ideas you could prompt them with questions, for example:

Has anything changed in your home?
What was it like when you first went to primary school/started coming to this school?
You could add your own description of a change in your life. You may need to be sensitive to any upsetting changes which may have happened to students and if necessary spend only a short time on this activity.
