Lesson objectives

• Read and analyze the stories in groups
• Learn new words through reading a story

Plot

The plot has different “parts…”

Parts of the plot with the explanation

• Exposition (beginning)- the start of the story;
• Rising action- the series of events and conflicts in the story that leads to the climax;
• Climax- the turning point, the most intense moment;
• Falling action- all of the action that follows the climax;
• Resolution (end)- the conclusion, how the story ends.

Your Turn…

• You will be given a short story to read.
• Once you’ve finished reading, fill out the plot table for the story.
