Знакомство. Грамматика: глагол “to be” в Present Simple
Цель: активизирование в устной речи клише знакомства; изучение новых слов по теме «Appearance»; формирование умений монологической и диалогической речи; повторение и закрепление спряжения глагола “to be”; создание условий для формирования коммуникативной культуры; привлечение к самостоятельной, творческой работе; способствование дальнейшему развитию личности.

I. Начало занятия
1.1 Приветствие и организационный момент.
The bell has gone. Stand up, please. We’ll start our lesson. Good morning, students. How are you? Sit down, please. What other variants of greeting do you know?

Who’s absent? – Do you know why?

1.2 Объявление темы и цели занятия.
You are the first year students now. By the end of the college you’ve got to be able to speak English quite fluently and freely on the suggested topic, to understand the native speakers as well as radio and TV programmes, to read newspaper and magazine articles. And by the end of today’s lesson you should be able to revise lexical and grammar material necessary for meeting people.

Read the words in columns paying attention to the reading of a. Ex.2 HO1

2.2 Развитие диалогической речи
We’ll work in pairs now. Read the dialogue. Ex. 2 p. 4 In pairs act out similar dialogues using your own names.
Ex. 4 HO1. Make up the sentences and then use them in your mini-dialogues.
Read and dramatize the following dialogues. Ex.5 HO1
2.3 Введение новой лексики занятия
Now we’ll study the new words and expressions. Ex.9 p.8. Copy them out.
To describe a person's appearance, we will need some other words. Ex. 14 p. 9 Repeat after me and then copy them out.
2.4 Работа с текстом
We have gradually come down the text. Ex. 10 p. 8. Read and translate it. We’ll do it by chain, sentence after sentence.
Ex. 11 p.8. Are these statements true or false? Correct the false one.
2.5 Объяснение грамматики – спряжение глагола “to be”
It’s time to deal with grammar. Open your books at p. 6. Read the explanation in Ex. 7. Make some notes.
Now let’s do Ex.6 HO1 in a written form. Put am, is, are where necessary. Who wants to go to the blackboard?

1. Learn the main rules of reading vowels [´vauəlz]
В английском языке различают четыре основных типа чтения гласных:
І тип – в открытом ударном слоге гласные читаются по алфавиту;
ІІ тип – открытом ударном слоге гласные читаются как короткий звук;
ІІІ тип – перед r с последующей согласной;
ІV тип – перед r с последующей гласной.
