It was in South America.

A rich Spaniard was riding home when suddenly his horse fell lame. As it happened far from his home he did not know what to do for he saw that his horse would not be able to bring him home. A little later he met an Indian riding on a fine horse and asked him to exchange the horses. The Indian refused to do this. But the Spaniard, being much stronger than the Indian, made him give up his horse. And the Spaniard rode away, leaving his lame horse to the Indian who was soon left far behind. But the Indian followed him and came to the town where he found the Spaniard. He went to a judge and said that the Spaniard had stolen his horse.

Then the Spaniard was asked to swear that the horse was his own and he had had it for many years. Then the Indian asked to send for the horse. This was done. And the Indian said: “This man swears that he has had this horse for many years; let him therefore tell you in which of the eyes the horse is blind.”

The Spaniard said at once: “In the right eye”.

“You are wrong”, said the Indian. “Neither in the right nor in the left, it is not blind at all.”

And so the horse was returned to the Indian.

Listen to the conversation between Barbara and Richard. Listen carefully and answer the questions.

Richard: Here we are. Brochures for one day excursions. Let's have a look.

Barbara: A riverboat trip! That looks interesting.

Richard: Yeah. It does. Where does it go? And how do we get to the river?

Barbara: It says to go by bus to the river. The bus trip takes about an hour. That costs $ 5 per person each way. Then the boat goes along the river for 4 hours. And we can get a meal on the boat. That sounds good.

Richard: How much does it cost?

Barbara: Well, the boat trip costs $ 20 and the meal is extra if we want it. It all sounds great, but it's a bit expensive - $ 30 each, and that's not counting the food and drinks.

Richard: Yes. It would be relaxing but it is a bit expensive and we wouldn't get much exercise sitting on a bus and a boat, would we?

Barbara: No, you are right. What about horse riding or cycling? Can you ride a horse?

Richard: Not very well. I've only ridden a horse twice in my life and that was long time ago. How much does it cost?

Barbara: Let me see. Horse riding's a bit expensive too - $ 30 for 2 hours.

Richard: What about cycling? That shouldn't be too expensive. Here we are, mountain bikes for hire. $ 10 a day! That's great!

Barbara: And there's a helmet and a repair kit with each one. You have to wear a helmet by law.

Richard: We'll hire two bikes then. Here is $ 20. That's very good.

к диагностической контрольной работе:

Цель работы – диагностика сформированности навыков аудирования, чтения, грамматических навыков, лексических навыков на материале, изученном в средней школе включительно 3 четверть 8 класса на базовом и повышенном уровне.

Критерии оценивания контрольной работы 8 класс по английскому языку: каждый правильный ответ оценивается в один балл. В первом задании во втором вопросе требуется указать 2 правильных ответа, соответствующие 2 баллам.

Максимальное количество баллов

Аудирование - 5баллов

чтение – 15 баллов

Лексика. Грамматика -14 баллов.

Максимальное количество баллов- 34

32-34 - "5" 

24-31 -  "4"

17-23 -  "3"

Задания 2,3 и 4 имеют базовый уровень и оцениваются в 25 баллов.

Задания базового уровня направлены на контроль сформированности следующих УУД:

№2: умение читать связный текст и находить специальную информацию;

№3: умение правильно употреблять лексические единицы;

№4: умение употреблять инфинитив и герундий после некоторых словосочетаний.
