1. Вступительное слово учителя.
Teacher: Good afternoon, dear students and our guests! Today we have a
holiday “Easter”. It is the holiday in honour of Jesus Christ’s resurrection.
British people celebrate Easter on the 17th of April this year. You know that we
say special Easter words. What are they? Yes, you are right. Christ is risen – he is
risen indeed.
Now it's time to introduce you our teams. The first team is “Funny rabbits”.
The second team is “Merry rabbits”. Let’s greet the teams with applause.
Teacher: We would like to start our holiday with the song about hot cross
buns. Listen and sing along.
Hot cross buns, hot cross buns,
One a penny, two a penny
Hot cross buns.
Give them to your daughters,
Give them to your sons.
One a penny, two a penny,
Hot cross buns.
2. Учащиеся рассказывают про легенду «Hot Cross Buns» (Подготовлено учащимися заранее).
Teacher: We have listened to the song about hot cross buns. And now there are some facts about this tradition.
Pupil 1: Once upon a time an old monk was travelling over a country. He found a poor village. Easter was coming but people didn’t have money to celebrate it. Then the monk cooked a lot of buns with sugar in a form of crosses. He gave buns to a poor family. But a boy Giles did not take them as a gift.
Pupil 2: He put them into the basket and walked over the village, singing the song. People bought buns because they were very cheap. Giles brought money to the monk. And he put money into the poor box in the church. The presents were bought for all citizens of the village. The song “Hot cross buns” became popular. And the tradition to give money for charity appeared.
3. Студенты рассказывают про Пасху, легенды, традиции этого праздника (Подготовлено заранее).
Teacher: There are a lot of legends and traditions which are connected with Easter. Now Easter bunnies tell us about some of them.
Pupil 3: People in England celebrate Easter every spring. Easter lasts for a week. The three most important days are Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. On Maundy Thursday, the king or queen of England gives money to poor people. This tradition is very old. On Good Friday, people eat fish instead of meat. They also eat hot cakes with a cross on the top. They call these cakes hot cross buns. On Easter Sunday, people eat a traditional roast dinner with lamb, potatoes and vegetables. They also give each other chocolate Easter eggs.
Pupil 4: Easter is fun for children. They decorate real eggs in pretty colours or make colourful hats, called Easter bonnets. They can also have an Easter egg hunt outside. Parents hide Easter eggs in their gardens and the children try to find as many as they can and put them in their Easter basket. People tell their children that the Easter Bunny brings the eggs! Bunnies or rabbits are symbols of spring.
Pupil 5: There are 3 favourite symbols of Easter: Easter Cross, Easter Egg and Easter Bunny. Eggs symbolize new life. The cross symbolizes Jesus’ victory over death.
Pupil 6: One of the best known Easter customs, which has a long history, is Easter parade or Easter Bonnet parade as they called it in Great Britain. This custom is originated with the tradition of buying new clothes for Easter which people wore to church. After church services everyone went for a walk around the town.
