• Maria Grosholts, after a merriage Tussaud. The date of her is birth 12.12.1761, Strasbourg.
• The daughter of officer Joseph Grosholts and Swiss Anna-Maria. Her father was lost 2 months before her birth (Seven-year war (1756-1763).

Madam Tussaud is the foundress of the Museum of the Waxworks .

• The girl was brought up by mother and the uncle Fillip Curtis. He has trained her art of wax modelling.

• In 1802 Maria Tussaud came to London. In connection with the English-French war Maria Tussaud and her collection cannot return to France and she had to travel across the Great Britain and Ireland.
• In 1835 the first constant exhibition on Baker-street in London was founded.

• Madam Tussaud’s Museum is an exhibition of hundreds of life-side wax models of famous people of yesterday and today.
