There are some more popular poets, who described a charming beauty of our native land. Probably, you have heard about Yevgeny Kokhan, Victor Sukhodolsky, Natalia Kapustyuk, Vitaly Nefedyev, Rimma Kozakova and others.
- Maximov Anatoly Nikolayevich wrote beautiful stories for children “Sedye talniki”, “Petrushkina Zastava”, “Norka”, etc
- Alexandrovsky Victor Nikolaevich also writes about our land and its people. “My friend Omgolon”, “Private Koshkin”, “My sea is my happiness” are really wonderful stories.
- Nikolai Fotyev is known for his satire.
- Vladimir Michailovich Sangi is a well-known Nivkhi writer. He wrote about man’s courage, honesty and his place on earth. The main subject of Sangi’s writings is the history of Nivkhi people, their folklore and the way of life. We read about it in “Nivkhskiye Legends” (1961).
- Who hasn’t heard about the Ulchi writer Alexei Leontyevich Valdyu ? He was born in 1915 in the village of Mongol-Ulchi district of the Khabarovsk territory. When a boy, he helped his father fishing and hunting. He tried many trades before he became a professional writer. His famous book “Life and Fairy Tales” is about life in taiga.

Why is Pyotr Komarov called a “singer” of the Far East?
- Pyotr Komarov (1911-1949) was one of those men, who wrote articles and poems in the hard time for our country. He was brave, talented and selfless. His poems inspired people to overcome difficulties in the years of Great Patriotic War. He admired nature. His love to nature was unbounded. One of his brilliant verses under the title “My town” is devoted to Khabarovsk.
