The main flag of Turkmenistan is 133metres high. It was recorded in The Guinness Book of World Records
You’re a great new flag
You’re a high-flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave!
You’re the emblem of
The Land I love
The home of the strong and the brave
Every heart beats bold
Under red, green and gold
Where neutrality’s not a brag.
So our nation’s pride
Is ne’er forget
Keep your eye on the great new flag!
Riches of Turkmenistan
An Akhalteke horse and turkmen carpet are the pride of our Motherland
2017 is the year of health and inspiration

What holidays do we celebrate
in Turkmenistan?
Which holiday was added to the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Herritage ?
Nowruz holiday
“ Nowruz” goes back to two words, which originally meant “new+day”. But it was not just “a new day”, actually it was “ The New Year’s Day”
Nowruz is the fist day of a year and great holiday. It is also a time to look back
and a time to look ahead.
On this holiday women put on luxurious jewelry
Many people make Nowruz resolutions: they promise themselves to do better in the new days than they did in the old days .
Nowruz resolutions:
- To be kind with people
- To be at school in time
- To study better
- To be polite and friendly
- To help parents and classmates
- To go in for sport
- To speak English
- To get only 4 or 5 marks
- To read mare books
During the Nowruz festival Turkmen hospitality has no borders, extending itself to the neighbouring countries and acquiring an international character and turning into a holiday of peace and humanism.
One of the main dishes
of this holiday is “SEMENI”.
It is prepared from the young buds of wheat.
People are very happy and gay on this day
On Nowruz holiday they like to dance turkmen national dance “KUSHDEPDI”
Nowruz has come-
The whole
World flowers today.
Nightingale sings about rose today.
The heart exalts, drinks happy today.
Love is everywhere, everything lives today.
In the desert –a garden of happiness
Grows today.
Sheidai
Magtymguly
Gelse nowruz äleme, reň kylar jahan peýda, Ebirler awaz urup, dag kylar duman peýda. Bijanlar jana girip, ederler dahan peýda, Görmedigiň gyýarlar, gögerip rowan peýda, Ederler haýwanatdahem sudy zyýan peýda, ýer ýüzüne ýaýylyp, ýörirler nahan peýda, wabeste dahan guşlar kylarlar zyban peýda
When Nowruz falls the world takes colour – openly,
Clouds cry aloud, mountains gazer haze - openly,
Even the lifeless come to life – breathing openly,
Plants before unseen, grow up and blossom – openly,
All creatures benefit or do us harm – openly,
They breed their kind and stealthily go by - openly,
Birds open beaks and sing when summer comes –openly.
