Good afternoon, my dear pupils! I’m glad to see you. How are you?

So we are going to start our lesson, are you ready?

Let’s start from some questions.

What topic are we discussing now? Do you like listening to music? What music do you like?

I prefer classical music. Would you like to listen to a piece of classical music?

Did you like it? Describe this music with the help of adjectives. This music is very popular. Do you know what is it?( This is the opening for spring for Four Seasons by Italian composer Antonio Vivaldi). Can you guess the topic of our lesson?

I am sure, you know a lot about seasons. We spoke about weather and climate of different countries. But have we spoken about Belarus? I want you to find out our main goals for today. What should we learn during the lesson?

But first of all I`d like you to brush your vocabulary and idioms about the weather. Look at the screen. I will show you pictures with different weather phenomenon. Your task is to name it and give a suitable idiom for it.

Can we use this idioms describing weather in Belarus? Do you understand the meaning of all idioms?

I want to test you on weather idioms. Do the quiz in your pupil’s sheet. Change your papers, please and check your classmates` works (взаимопроверка).

We are in the beginning of the spring here in Belarus. The weather is still cool but in three month from now, the weather is going to be sunny and warm. Six month from now, it’s going to be raining and miserable, and maybe even snowing. No matter where you live on Earth, you experience seasons, as we pass from spring to summer, to autumn, to winter, and then back to spring again. Why do we have variations at temperatures at all? What is the reason of seasons? Give me your hypotheses.

We are going to watch the video. The topic is difficult, there are some unfamiliar words and we must know them. Let’s read the words. Look at this picture. Let’s identify where axis, angle, North and South Pole are.

And the last point of our plans is seasons in Belarus. I will divide you into four groups and in pairs you will work on your season. Read the text in you books- page 284-286 , exercise 2. We are going to make a poster about seasons. You don’t need to draw , just stick pictures on the paper to make a poster. Say what is happening, what you can do during your season, expand the information you get from the book with your own thoughts and prepare a presentation.

When you are finished, you will share your information with the rest of the group.
