INTRODUCTION

• Architecture is part of the culture of any country. When learning a foreign language, we get acquainted not only with the vocabulary and grammar, but also with its history, country studies

• This research paper is devoted to the topic «Architecture of Great Britain from Celts to the present day»

«My house is my castle». - That's what the British say

RELEVANCE:

In English classes, students of the 1st year of our technical school study the topic "There is no place like home". This topic is closely related to my future specialty, but construction and architecture are not given much attention in it. The text "British homes" (Unit 2, ex. 16 p. 31) tells about a traditional English house, but this information is not enough for students of construction specialties, there is not enough clarity, specific details. This fact determines the relevance of this work

IDEA:

To find interesting and accessible information on the architecture of Great Britain, to learn the history of its development, to present the results in a presentation

NOVELTY:

Today, there is a lot of information about the architecture of Great Britain on the Internet. Often it is written in a complex scientific language, the data is scattered, sometimes contradictory and fragmentary. Our work can fill this gap

GOAL & TASKS OF THE WORK:

Goal:

to study the architecture of Great Britain, to identify the main styles and trends in which the architecture of the early years and in the modern period is represented.

Tasks:

• collect and process information on the topic
• choose an interesting, informative, visual and accessible material in English on the architecture of Great Britain
• develop an English computer presentation «The architecture of Great Britain from Celts to the present day»
