Цели урока:
Познавательный аспект: познакомить студентов с такой формой проведения урока как аукцион, расширять знания студентов по изучаемой теме;
Воспитательный аспект: способствовать формированию чувства гордости за свою национальную культуру и национальную кухню;
Развивающий аспект: развивать навыки самостоятельной работы студентов, развивать способность к продуктивным речевым действиям;
Учебный аспект: расширять лексический запас студентов, развивать навыки монологической и диалогической речи.
Оснащение урока: дидактический раздаточный материал, учебное пособие Агабекяна И.П. «Английский для обслуживающего персонала», учебное пособие Щербаковой Н.И. «Английский язык для специалистов сферы общественного питания», презентации Power Point, подготовленные студентами, видеофрагменты по теме урока.

Т.: Good morning, dear friends! I`m glad to welcome you at our lesson, devoted to the Russian cuisine. Russia is a country steeped in culture and tradition with many well-known customs dating back thousands of years. Modern Russian citizens have incorporated a number of western concepts into their daily lives including enjoying fast food and American films, but a number of old Russian etiquette rules remain intact, particularly when it comes to meal time.

T.: Today we`ve got an international auction. Who can explain the word “Auction”?
P: It is the place, where people buy different ancient, old or valuable things.
T.: Let me read the definition, according to the dictionary, auction is a public event at which things are sold to the person who offers the most money for them.

A travel agency is a private retailer or public service that provides tourism related services to the public on behalf of suppliers such as airlines, car rentals, cruise lines, hotels, railways, and package tours. In addition to dealing with ordinary tourists most travel agencies have a separate department devoted to making travel arrangements for business travelers and some travel agencies specialize in commercial and business travel only. There are also travel agencies that serve as general sales agents for foreign travel companies, allowing them to have offices in countries other than where their headquarters are located.
The foreign travel agents came to our auction to choose the Russian cuisine restaurant to conclude a contract for services. And the representatives of Russian restaurant business are here to auctioneer their services.

T.: After our auction the sides will conclude a contract for services. Let`s first of all determine what is a contract.
A contract is an agreement entered into voluntarily by two parties or more with the intention of creating a legal obligation, which may have elements in writing, though contracts can be made orally. The most important feature of a contract is that one party makes an offer for an arrangement that another accepts. This can be called a concurrence of wills or consensus ad idem (meeting of the minds) of two or more parties. The concept is somewhat contested.

Bidding is an offer (often competitive) of setting a price one is willing to pay for something. A price offer is called a bid. The term may be used in context of auctions, stock exchange, card games, or real estate. (Торги - это предложение (часто конкурентное), устанавливающее цену, которую кто-то готов платить за что-то. Ценовое предложение называемое ставкой. Термин может быть использован в контексте аукционов, фондовых бирж, карточных игр или недвижимости.)
Hammer price - Nominal price at which a lot is sold; the buyer is responsible for paying any additional fees and taxes on top of this amount. ( Цена с молотка - номинальная цена, по которой продается лот; Покупатель несет ответственность за уплату любых дополнительных сборов и налогов с максимальной суммы.)
Lot - A single item or group of items that are bid on as one unit. (Лот - один элемент или группа элементов, которые выставляются на торги как единое целое.)
Minimum bid - The smallest opening bid that will be accepted. (Минимальная ставка – самая маленькая начальная ставка.)
Outbid - To bid higher than another person. (Повышение ставки – это когда ставка выше, чем у другого лица.)
Estimate is approximate value of the lot by the auction house experts, conditional pricing benchmark. (Эстимейт — приблизительная оценка стоимости лота экспертами аукционного дома, условный ценовой ориентир.)
Т.: Every tour agent has a card with a number. After calling a lot and a hammer price you have to raise your card so you raise the price of a lot. That agent who gives more money will win the bidding.
