Types of dwellings in Russia

Guest rooms(Gostinki) and small apartments(Malosemeiki)

Two very similar types of housing. They were originally created as a transitional option between dormitories and apartments. The difference is that the first in most cases does not have at least a kitchen. Sometimes there is no bathroom or shower along with it.

Stalinki

This is the type of housing built under Stalin from the 1930s to the 1950s. They are characterized by high comfort due to the large floor area. As a rule, there are 3-4 rooms, less often 1-2.

Khrushchevki

A new wave of construction under Khrushchev. Buildings were planned as apartments for any family, though small and not too comfortable, but their own. These five-story buildings were quick and cheap to build.

Studios

A studio is a one-room apartment with a reduced floor area and a non-standard layout. It is distinguished by the fact that it has no interior walls, except for a separate bathroom with toilet and shower.

Standard apartments

This category includes the most common apartments in new buildings with a different number of rooms. The layout and characteristics depend on the project under which the builder erected the building.

Private houses

A private home means a small, usually one-story structure erected on one's own plot of land. It is intended for permanent residence of one family.

Cottages

Cottage - a larger version of the house, often has two floors. It is intended for permanent residence.

Villas

A villa is not just a building. It is a full-fledged complex, consisting of a fairly large residential building decorated with architectural décor in a particular style (most often Italian), and a huge garden plot.

Penthouses

A penthouse is an entire house built on the roof of a high-rise. Often such real estate is sold as non-residential. But such a penthouse can also be called an apartment.

Atriumariums

Elite housing in an apartment building, located on the first floor. It has only recently appeared in Russia. In fact, it is almost a separate apartment from the rest of the house - it has no connection with the entrance. But it has its own entrance with a porch, next to which is a front garden and a private parking space.
