Innovative technologies in education
The current stage of social development is shown by the
unprecedented increase in scientific sphere, high level of the
progress in computer technologies, the evolution of innovational
processes in all aspects of social production. The rate of making
inventions and absorption of innovations in all facets of the
modern society, the level of their implementation into our life
and consciousness turned innovations into a natural process,
they have become an important element of social progress that
meets requirements in the educational field.
The word “innovation” (from Latin “innove”) appeared
in the middle of the 17 century. It means implementing a new
thing into any sphere and generating a chain of changes in it.
This term has recently changed its first meaning. It was
interpreted as a scientific invention reflected in a certain
technology or a product. Therefore, the main benefit of
introduction of innovations was an actual profit. In the social
sphere, in the sphere of education this figure of merit is not the
main compared with the economics and material production.
The innovation in the educational field can be considered as:
1)Stable changing that inputs some new elements (inventions) into education, that makes some characteristics of separate parts and the whole system better
2) Assimilation process of some new technologies (new
methods, programs)
3) The search for the perfect methods and programs, their
introduction into the educational process and its upheaval.
Nowadays the innovation in the educational field is on the
beginning stage and empirical research.
Modern school becomes an innovational institute in a
part of informational technology, where students can get not
only some important knowledge, but the spirit of the modern
informational society and where they learn to use it in a proper
way. Without using informative-communicatory technology an
educational institution should not claim on the innovational
status in education. An educational institution can be considered
as innovational only in case the educational process includes
didactic, methodical and technical innovations. Due to this, it
achieves some real graduation of rate and capacity of griped
knowledge, it also raises the quality of learning that allows
students to find their own special abilities.
The innovational route of education changes the main goal
of the school. Disclosing abilities of every student, raising an
orderly and patriotic man, a personality that is ready for life in
a highly technological, competitive world comes into the first
place. For reaching these goals, the educational process reorients
to individual educational tracks. This would allow teachers not
only to select the most talented children, but to create some
special circumstances for a huge number of outpourings of
children’s talents.
It is a transition from the education as a system of introducing
knowledge to the education as a work with some issues with the
purpose of outputting some certain decisions; from learning
some main subjects to multidiscipline researching of some
hard life situations; from collaboration of a teacher and a pupil
to dynamic participation of students in it.
Interactive teaching becomes the main element of the
pedagogical innovation that is based on conversational forms
of cooperation made by participants of the educational process,
for example, learning mixed with talking that helps students
to form and develop some communicational skills. This exact
cooperation is a condition for developing students’ art abilities.
The interactive learning could not ever be imagined without
modern informative-communicatory technologies. The most
impressive invention for students is an interactive whiteboard
that is slowly replacing a school blackboard. Its interactive
possibilities make the process of getting knowledge even better
memorized. A lesson with using interactive technologies made
on the base of optimal pedagogical cooperation has a list of
advantages: it is held at a good pace; stages of the lesson has
a logical link; different types of educational activity are mixed
up; it makes the attitude of students more serious; different
forms and types of activities make the whole class engrossed;
that allows each student to improve their knowledge; pupils
get materials of the lesson according to their individual
psychological markers; they get some new communication
skills; the atmosphere of cooperation and co-creation at the
lessons is addictive.
One of the methods of interactive learning is a group form
of work that increases cognitive motivation of students and
decreases a level of fear to be incompetent in solving some
problems. By working in a group educability, effectiveness of
acquisition and actualization of knowledge are increasing.
Nowadays school has all possibilities for developing “project
thinking” by a special type of pupils’ activity, so-called “project
work”. Project work usually has a target that is personally
meaningful for each student and it is stated as an issue. By
solving this issue, the author of this project decides his strategy,
arranges his time, uses a lot of sources, including informational.
The involvement of students into project activity is happening
gradually. The experience of project activity at school shows
that the interest in this significantly independent work appears
in primary school. Students of secondary school have enough
knowledge, experience in doing research work, skills of using
a computer for searching information and arranging their
written work. They also have necessary will power to overcome
difficulties and not to lose interest in a continuous duty. They
are able to keep the main and most important goal in their mind
for the whole time of work.
Using of interactive technologies helps to develop a child’s
personality, it creates a special pedagogical sphere, intensifies
the educational process, that increases the effectiveness of work
and the quality of education. The main sense of innovations is
increasing the quality of education.
The innovational process is a continuous process that does
not have the exact ending. It is not about an exponentiallyincreasing sum of knowledge that was collected by the whole
humanity. The peculiarity of the innovational process is its
cyclical pattern that can be expressed in the structure of stages
that the innovation passes: creation, hasty growth in contestation
with opponents, readiness, absorption, expansion, saturation,
routinization, crisis, the bottom [3, p. 79]
Only when innovations are understood as a continuous
cyclic process, the quality of education considerably increases.
This means that education itself is not as valuable as the ability
to create new knowledge based on earlier experience and the
ability to use it properly according to the theoretical base that
was given at school
