“TRAVELING TO AMERICA!”

Задачи урока:

1.Образовательные задачи:

- активизация и закрепления об истории Америки, символики США;

- активизация грамматических навыков по изученным темам;

- отработка навыка построения монологического высказывания по теме; навыков чтения, диалогической речи и аудирования;

- обобщение страноведческого материала.

2. Воспитательные задачи:

- формирование уважения, интереса и положительного отношения к культуре и традициям страны изучаемого языка;

- формирование ответственности и инициативы учащихся в индивидуальной и совместной работе;

- формирование умения адекватно оценивать свой уровень знаний и умений;

- формирование позитивного отношения к своей успешности или не успешности в работе.

3. Развивающие задачи:

- формирование навыков устной и письменной речи на языке;

- развитие произвольного внимания и запоминания;

- развитие социально-культурной осведомленности;

- развитие навыков языковой догадки, мышления, восприятия и инициативы.

Оборудование и материалы: компьютер, проектор, интерактивная доска, раздаточный материал к уроку.

T: Good morning, my dear friends! Nice to see you again!

1.2. Введение в тему.

T: What’s the weather like today

T: Great! And what season is the warmest, the sunniest? In what season do we have the longest holidays for all three months?

P2: Summer

T: Right you are. And what are your associations with the word “summer”?

Учащиеся проговаривают свои ассоциации со словом “лето”.

T: That’s right. People usually travel in summer. So, today we are going to speak about travelling. Please, look at the board and read the saying.

Travelling may teach us more than anything else. Sometimes one day in a different place gives us more than ten years at home (Anatole France).

What is the national symbol of America?  (The bald eagle)

What is the capital of the USA?  (Washington)

What can you see on the American flag? ( 50  stars, 13 stripes, white and red colors)

What is the largest city of America? ( New York)

When do Americans celebrate the Independence Day? (July, 4)

No, I don’t.

Teacher:  - And now we are in New York, at Kennedy Airport. May I introduce you Natalie? She is a Russian girl but she has been living in America for  2 years. She is studying English here. Natalie will be our guide .

     I want to tell you about Atlanta. We’ll be there in an hour. Atlanta, Georgia- is one of the most beautiful  cities in the USA, it’s the capital of state Georgia. Look at the map! You can find it in the North central part of Georgia. Georgia is famous for its magnolia trees and beautiful flowers. Like many big cities, Atlanta is multicultural city. People from all over the world call Atlanta their native home.

      Dr. Martin Luther King, the hero of America, lived in Atlanta. He was brave, he wanted people of all races to march together for peace love. He was a Minister and his church is here in Atlanta.

    Have any questions about Atlanta? NO? Well, and now I want to ask you some questions about America.
