Употребление Past Continuous

1. Действие продолжалось в определенный момент в прошлом.

- Ben was swimming in the pool a t 4 o’clock

2. Мы используем Past Continuous, когда мы хотим сказать, что какое-то действие продолжалось, когда второе действие его прервало.

- I was taking a shower, when you phon ed me

3. Когда мы говорим о временной ситуации, которая длилась прошлом и этот период назван

- Jessy was studying Spanish in summer

4. Когда мы говорим о двух действиях или о нескольких, которые продолжались в прошлом одновременно

- I was writing a letter to my friend in Australia while ,my wife was cooking dinner
