— У тебя в комнате есть какие-нибудь фрукты ( сколько-нибудь фруктов)?  — Да, у меня в комнате есть какие-то фрукты ( несколько фруктов). / Нет, у меня в комнате нет никаких фруктов.

— Have you any books in your room?  — Yes, I have some books in my room. / No, I don’t have any books in my room.

Some ( несколько ) употребляется в утвердительных предложениях I have some friends. – У меня есть несколько друзей. I have some coffee. – У меня есть немного кофе.

Any ( сколько-нибудь, какой-нибудь, никакой ) употребляется в вопросительных и отрицательных предложениях. Do you have any books? – У тебя есть какие-нибудь книги? You don’t have any coffee. – У тебя нет никакого кофе.

Итак, any используется в вопросах и отрицательных предложениях; some — в утвердительных предложениях.

Ex. 3. Translate into Russian. 1. My sister has some sweets. 2. I want to buy some eggs. 3. Is there any tea in your mug? 4. Do you know any funny stories? 5. We don’t have any cheese. 6. He doesn’t have any butter. 7. I bring some bread. 8. Do you have any bacon?
